Cecil opened his eyes to find himself in the sick ward, but how did- the images of last night flashed through his mind. He swallowed the guile in his throat, Cecil slowly took of the sheet and appraised his scar. It wasn't as bad as he thought but...there was a bloody rose bud coming out of his flippin' chest! It was pure white surprisingly since it was in his heart, he tapped it a bit. He didn't feel any different, a bit out of it but-"Oh my poor baby!"
His mother charged in "I'm so sorry if I knew we wouldn't have done this, but you weren't going to get a wife so we took the initiative. It really is your own fault-" "Mother." He cut in. "I was not the one who agreed to this 'plan' of your's. Now all I need to do is find my 'one true love'?" His mother nodded. He pushed himself out of bed grabbed the nearest servant and ran off to his room. Naked. The boy was tactless and strange.
The next morning Cecil's room was empty, there was no note or anything, but they all knew he was out there searching for the 'Queen of his dreams'.
Cecil sneezed, he had walked into the Frightful Forest an hour ago and somehow he ended up wading through a long ass pond. At any point he would die before he met or even saw his true love. "True love...bunch of donkey shit that is." He muttered. "You don't really mean that do you?" He heard. He looked around, Cecil saw no-one. "Down here!" Cecil looked down to find a frog sitting on a lily pad. "Oh a frog prince. How cliche." "F-frog?!" The frog jumped upon his face. "You listen here and you listen good buddy, I. Am. A. Toad." The toad said. "I am a toad and a princess so you should handle me with respect and kindness!" Cecil huffed, "I shall treat you like i treat everyone else, majicked toads get no bonuses." He slipped her into his coat pocket and waded through the wastes once more.
"Where are you going?" The toad finally groused. "To see if someone can break this curse." the toad jiggled in his pocket, "But don't you want to find your true love?" "No." he deadpanned. "Oh, are you sure?" she asked, "Yes." The toad scoffed, "I pity the poor girl who will be your love, and news flash no one can break your curse unless it's your intended." A few moments of silence before. "I wonder how far I can chuck you." the rest of the way went with a tense silence.
"Where are we going?" she asked. "None of your business." The toad huffed, "Well I am in your pocket, so it is my business." Cecil kept walking, the toad croaked, "You don't know where you're going!" Cecil bristled, "Now you- wait...has it grown a bit too quite to you?" The toad croaked, "Nonsense, now-" a low growl was heard through out the glade they were now in. Cecil wasted no time in runnning in what he hoped was the oposite direction of the beast he heard. Unfortuanetly that was not the case.
The beast jumped out of the bushes and landed straight on Cecil's stomach. It's weight forced him to crummple to the ground. The toad princess jumped out of his coat pocket and hopped away screaming. The beast growled at Cecil, it's muzzle close to his head, about to rip him to shreds. A shrill whistle peirced the glade and the beast's ears pricked up. It got off Cecil and went ambling towards a figure in the brush.
"What were you doing silly puppy?" he heard. "About to rip me to shreds, you really should keep an eye on that mongrel." He heard a scoff above him, bright brown eyes stared down at him, "That is quiet rude considering your circumstance boy." He saw the dog's muzzle mere inches from his face, yep, he was properly and royally screwed.
