"Mr. Miller? Excuse me, Mr. Miller?" The voice of an unknown man spoke to Jackson Miller. "Sir, we've arrived." The voice informs, tapping against the glass that Jackson's cheek was pressed up against. Miller was surprised by the tapping, as he woke up immediately by the rude awakening of his nap and quickly rolled down the window. "Donovan," Miller called out, quite angry. "How many fuckin' times have I asked you to NOT wake me up like this? It's annoying." He spoke to the driver with disrespect in his tone. "My dearest apologies, Mr. Miller." The driver said with urgency.
Miller stepped out the car and fixed the bowtie on his suit and passed by Donovan with a smirk. "You've gotta understand that Stephanie Faith is going to be comin' soon, Donovan." He explained while Donovan was too busy trying to close the door of the car as carefully as he could, trying to avoid angering the rich guy's son. "And if I'm in a bad mood," He continued as he walked up to the theatre employee, tapping against the glass to wake up the half-asleep worker, "Then my time with the prettiest girl I've ever met will be ruined, understand?" He quickly turned to the worker, who had woken up from his nap after the rude awakening.
"Hey, wake up. If you were MY employee I would've fired you ages ago." He cleared his throat, the worker rolled his eyes.
"What can I do for you today, Sir?" The worker said with a mildly boring voice.
"Two tickets for 'The Hills Have Eyes', and make it snappy. I ain't got time to waste." Jackson informed, on his phone displaying horrid manners.
As the worker began to grab the tickets, Jackson turned around and tapped against his wristwatch, "Donovan," He called, to which the old driver jumped, "Y-Yeah?" He quickly asked, hoping that he didn't do anything wrong. "Meet us back here after two hours, okay? If you aren't here by then, we'll have to hire another driver." He threatened, "That would make our seventh driver to be replaced this week." He angrily informed, grabbing the tickets from the worker without batting an eye to him.
Miller stood at the curve of the movie theatre and stood there with his hands inside his pocket. His hair was spiked up to the sky and his baby face peered at the woods that accompanied the theatre. His mildly annoyed tone rose again, "Who'd built such a good looking theatre next to the outdoors? Seems rather strange." However, he was cut off by the sound of an approaching car and stood straight with excellent posture.
As he had expected, for the fifth time a car had come and gone, she was finally here. Her beautiful blue eyes staring at his own brown and relaxed, his hand running against his perfectly cut spikey hair to ensure nothing was wrong with his looks. As she stepped away from her vehicle and waved away her mother, she quickly made her way as fast as a female could while wearing heels to say hello to the rich teen. Her dress was perfectly white and her jewelry made it all the more beautiful to stare at. "Hello, Jackie!" She said with a tease on her voice, "It's so good that you agreed to come to the movies." She said with a cheer on her voice.
"Always glad to be with a friend." He informed with his very well mannered pose.
"Shame the guys couldn't come." She suddenly said as her smile soon faded down.
"The German wouldn't be very fun to hang out with, always questioning things in the movie." He explained, "And Michael is always falling asleep mid-movies. Would've been a waste and a carry if we had to bring them along. I'm glad it's jus' us, y'know?" Miller couldn't help but let out a smile, thinking about the alone time they had. Before she could say anything, Jackson took out the tickets from his pockets and informed "I know how you like Classic horror flicks, so I got us two tickets for the 'Hills have eyes'" He then gave the ticket to her, to which she was happily able to take. Stephanie wasn't your average girl, she was more into the things boys like. Horror movies with action and adventure rather than the typical romantic comedy broad you'd end up meeting and falling in love with in High school.
As the two entered the movie theatre, it was only a matter of time before the fun would end and the two would have to leave their separate ways...
Once the movie was over, Jackson made his way out of the room with a slight discomfort look on his face. The fact that such an idea came out of someone's head to create such a movie was undoubtedly horrifying and disgusting, but he was glad Stephanie had a wonderful time. He was tempted to make a move and hold her hand, but his nervous side came out and he didn't end up doing any such thing.
Once outside the movie theatre, Jackson made a disgusted look. Donovan wasn't anywhere to be seen, 'neither was the Limo that was specifically brought just for the two of them. Granted, the movie had ended a half an hour before the time he told Donovan to come to get them, he was still quite annoyed that he didn't take in consideration the movie wasn't going to be two hours long. Before he could voice his opinion, the chipper happy girl suggested,
"We should take a walk in the woods!"
To which Jackson quickly turned to her with a shocked expression, "Really?"
"Yeah!" She exclaimed, excitedly. "It'll be fun! What, you're afraid that the Woods have eyes?" She made a pun, to which Jackson quickly flustered up and replied with,
"I ain't afraid of nothin'. Never have, never will." Despite his constant shaking throughout the movie.
"Then you should have no fear in coming into the woods then, Jackie." She teased again with the nickname, causing a reaction within Jackson to put on his man pants and prove her wrong. A dedicated teenager paid no mind to how horrifying the woods was, as he was sure this would impress her.
As if the dark, smelly woods wasn't bad enough, ambient sounds didn't help Jackson feel right at home. The constant noises that crickets kept making, albeit not as loud as those from Owls and the annoying ambient sounds of wind blowing through the trees made Jackson feel completely vulnerable to the creatures of the night that definitely roamed and claimed this part of the free world theirs. Jackson almost jumped when he felt the hand of Stephanie grab onto his shoulder,
"Jackie?" She called out to him in a whisper, "You're not scared, are you?" She asked, a little worried.
Despite his body giving out a tremble, Jackson manned up and stood straight, placing a hand behind his neck and speaking out a little louder than her, "What? Me? Scared? Pshh, not in this dimension." His 'Confidence' went away when something snapped a tree branch in half, to which Jackson quickly jumped towards the noise and asked, "What was that?"
Stephanie laughed at Jackie's reaction, suggesting that it was perhaps nothing more than a mere squirrel. Jackson was convinced it was something bigger, like a bear-or worse, a wolf.
And he was almost right because before they decided to leave this place behind, Jackson turned around at the right moment to have two big red pupils stare at him, "Uh... Stephanie...?" Jackson called to her, "Squirrels usually aren't that big or have red eyes, do they?"
They both froze in fear. Whatever hid in the darkness jumped at the couple, but aimed at Jackson first than the female. Jackson, in a nervous attempt, attempted to avoid it by shifting his body to the right only to be tackled by the large furry creature. The dark night made it hard to tell what it was, but whatever it was it had a strong grip against Jackson. The creature took a big chance and leaned its head down for a bite at Jackson, to which his body reacted fast by placing his arm in the way.
The creature had its jaws tight against Jackson's arm, only letting go once Stephanie threw a very accurate rock at the Wolf from a far distance. "Leave him alone you big jerk!" She called out, and Jackson took this opportunity to kick the creature where he would assume its babies would come out of or create within, thinking it would allow them to escape almost unharmed, and to his surprise, worked.
Once he gathered himself, he ignored the wound and made a run for it outside of the woods into the light, finally returning to the theatre and civilization. Unsure if the creature was following, they kept running until they finally found Donovan, who was relaxing against the car door. Jackson was too hurt and confused to tell him he was late and fire him on the spot, instead, he yelled out, "OPEN THE FUCKING DOOR AND DRIVE OLD MAN!" As the two fled from the forest.
Once inside the vehicle and once he gathered his bearings, Stephanie mentioned Jackson's bite wound. It wasn't a pretty one, as it was as big as his arm. Jackson didn't even want to acknowledge how deep, constantly whispering to himself that perhaps it was as deep as a puddle. His suit was ruined, having mud stains and blood running against the expensive sleeves and dripping against his pants. His white shirt also having blood stains on it, but luckily Jackson held in his tears and instead manned up once again to show that he was a tough guy to impress Stephanie.
Jackson took a minute and thought about it, "How'd you run so fast with heels on?" To which Stephanie, who was trying to catch her breath looked over and simply said, "Ex-Boyfriend."
Telling the driver to head to the Hospital, this night turned out to be not as enjoyable as he had thought, as the woods did have eyes.
