"Did you hear?" Ariella Cross smiled brightly as she bent toward her companion. Severus Snape's eyebrow rose as he shook his head.

"Hear what, Cross?" He replied as he turned back to the book that was in his hands. Ariella giggled before flashing two tickets in his face.

"We're going to the Quidditch World Cup!" She exclaimed excitedly as she swung her hips from side to side. Her blonde curls hung in the air around her face as Severus smirked.

"We are?" He asked as she nodded.

"Yes, in sky box seats! Isn't it exciting?" Ariella grinned wildly as Severus shrugged, feigning disinterest.

"Hardly," he drawled as his reaction earned a pout from the blonde woman.

"Severus~" She whined as she stood up straight and folded her arms across her chest.

"Don't be such a killjoy," she complained as Severus chuckled. He enjoyed manipulating his companion's emotions. She was so easy to fool. He easily closed his book and set it down on the nearby table.

"I thought you liked Quidditch, Severus," Ariella mumbled as she watched the man climb to his feet and take several steps toward her.

"I do, Cross," He replied with a shrug as he stopped in front of her. Ariella's pout deepened.

"You don't wanna go with me, is that it, Snape?" She asked darkly as Severus chuckled before plucking the tickets out of her hand. As she went to object, he captured her lips with his. When he pulled away, a blush had settled across the blonde's cheeks.

"Malfoy has already offered me," he remarked quietly as he watched anger flit across Ariella's features.

"So you're going with him?" she growled, anger rising in her gut. She mentally swore to curse Lucius Malfoy the very next time she saw him.

"I declined, because I knew you'd want to go, Cross," Severus replied, smirking. He'd never admit it to anyone, but he rather enjoyed watching Ariella get riled up over him. He watched surprise settle across her pretty features.

"You mean you're going with me?" She asked, making sure she had heard him correctly. Severus nodded. Ariella's face lit up with a bright smile as she launched herself at the unprepared man. Severus stumbled as he held Ariella up.

"This is so exciting! The World Quidditch Cup!" She squealed as she hugged him tightly. Severus rolled his eyes at her before he pulled her against his body tightly. As he dipped his head down to capture her lips with his once again, an annoying ringing filled the air and brought a frown to Ariella's features.

Suddenly Ariella bolted up from her pseudo-nap as she recognized the ringing. She cursed herself as she managed to wipe the drool from her face before she climbed to her feet.

Why did she have to dream about Severus Snape? And it wasn't even a memory! Merlin, she couldn't be anymore pathetic unless she wrote Mrs. Ariella Snape a hundred times over her notebooks.

That prick, she growled internally. He wasn't even here and he was pissing her off.

"I'll get the door, Trix!" Her yell echoed through the empty halls of the Gryffindor Manor as Ariella made her way from the library to the front door. Knocking soon replaced the sound of the doorbell.

"Molly," Ariella greeted half-heartedly when she opened the door to find the Weasley matriarch standing on her front porch. Molly Weasley smiled good-naturedly at the blonde woman. While Molly and Ariella had only spent one year together as school-mates, they became and remained good friends when they both joined the resistance against Voldemort in their younger days.
