Enid Grant's life had taken a turn for the worst the day her brother had died.
The constant flow of drugs that had been invited into his bloodstream had been his best friend, his addiction, and ultimately the cause of his death. The wooden walls she had built up had been destroyed in a matter of seconds the day her aunt had sat her down, telling her news she never wanted to hear.
Weeks after, the negative thoughts couldn't help but creep back into her mind like a garden snake just as she thought her tearful nights had come to an end. In truth, Enid thought she was alone, with no one to understand her pain when she couldn't explain, when the words would get caught in her throat as sobs restricted her from speaking.
Someone did understand though, and that someone was Edward Cullen.
