On that same science team trip, I played Minecraft with my roommates, who were both in grade 12. Amazingly, we could connect to a Minecraft server with our hotels wifi, which was not the best. I remember going on a random Minecraft server to play Skywars with them. I was an absolute idiot, teleporting with an ender pearl, only to fall of the edge of the map. That same game, one of the grade 12's won, and it was truly an epic gamer moment. We played for only 30 minutes, but, like the testing of our boomilever, those 30 minutes made my trip so much better. The details of the weekend are filled with a lot of sadness, not from the competition, but from our free time. There are third wheels, there are fifth wheels. I was the twenty first wheel in every group. The trip gave me a lot of consideration on how I had fit in with everyone, as people who were just as new as me had established themselves with their friends. It also didn't help when that one dude didn't let me play poker because I called all in a few months before, which just nearly ruined the whole weekend for me. I don't have much anger towards that guy now, but still, screw you ****weed. Nonetheless, aside from all that insecurity and sadness, playing Minecraft with a couple of my roommates and failing the boomilever were good enough to make the motion sickness and lack of poker worth the trip. To those grade 12's who I'm talking about, I sincerely thank you. You may not know it, but you saved me from filling my memories of the weekend with spite.
