it was the first day, again. a new school, new students, new teachers, a new start. a few familiar faces popped up in between the mass of people, parents and their children, excited and anxious about what will happen in the next few minutes.
"good evening and welcome everyone to the first assembly this year. we all gathered here to guide the new students in."
"i will start calling names now and the said students shall stand up and go up on the stage, because the called students will be their classmates."
"kim namjoon, kim seokjin, kim eunwoo, park jimin, kim taehyung, min yoongi, jung hoseok, jeon jeongguk, kim jisoo, kim jennie, park chaengyol,..."
as the principal called out all the names for class 1-2 there was one particular student that feared the new school and his new classmates but was also determined to find new friends and have fun on his first day at the new school.
when he heard his name being called he stood up, made his way to the other teenagers and waited for the ceremony to be over. not soon after he found himself in a classroom with 24 other people and his new class teacher that wrote her name on the board.
"hello again everyone, my name is mrs. poin and i'm your new class teacher. i think we should play games to get to know each other, so let's start with that."
they had to figure out their ages and make a raw from youngest to oldest, taehyung himself standing in the first part since he just turned 14 a few weeks ago.
after that they had to stand in alphabetical order, which took a longer time and was quite confusing since there were so many kids with the surname kim but because of some orders from a boy named jeon jeongguk and the help from taehyung they figured it out in the end and could sit back down on their chairs.
the second the bell rang everyone bolted out of the room, escaping to the school yard. taehyung being his normal outgoing and confident self asked a few of his classmates to play tag with him and they accepted happily, being to shy themselves to ask, so the break was filled with laughter and squeals.
on the end of the day taehyung laid in bed and was happy, liking his class and seeing forward to the things they would experience together.
weeks passed since the first day and taehyung was still happy but something changed, the boy jeongguk had started teasing and annoying him. always poking him in the sides, distracting him in class and making him angry then laughing when taehyung grabbed him by the collar and yelled at him to stop.
besides from that taehyung found a new best friend, hoseok, with a bubbly and positive personality that never failed to make him laugh after jeongguk edged him into bursting out.
taehyung decided after one long school day to ask hoseok a question which lingered in his mind since the last weekend.
„do you wanna hang out after school tomorrow?"
he asked while looking on the floor shyly, not being sure if hoseok would agree.
„omg of course, i didnt want to be annoying by asking, i waited so long for this. you can come to mine tomorrow, is that okay?"
hoseok said and taehyung nodded eagerly, being excited and happy because of the reaction. planning thing in his mind that they could do together, he didn't pay attention to where he was going, bumping into someone and falling on his bottom.
