My Ex-ex

Chapter One

Simi's POV

I stormed into the classroom and slammed the door shut. I noticed everyone turned their head over in my direction. I guess I had gotten their attention.

Tobi was walking right behind me and I know I literally just shut him out but I don't care. I was mad.

He quietly opened the door and said, "Simi please hear me out".

I turned and the look on his face was apologetic and somewhat sincere but I didn't want to look at him. I'd forget all the reasons I was angry in the first place.

I went on ranting, "What do you have to tell me? No! Tell me what plausible reason you have for keeping me waiting for over an hour. You know me, I really am not patient. Do you have any idea the number of guys I turned down just to be with you? You should count yourself lucky."

His forehead creased. He looked really heartbroken.

"Ah-ahn, but Simi I have never really offended you in any way that I know of. It's just that..." He said slowly.

"Oh please!" I quickly cut him off.
"I have never really offended you in any way that I know of," I repeated mockingly.

"But..." He tried to say.

"Save it!" I quickly interrupted.

From somewhere behind, Stella shouted, "Simi you sef give the guy a chance to explain himself na!"

I turned eyed her and held my palm out in a stop sign. "Abeg! abeg! Hold your own there! No put your mouth for wetin no concern you." I retorted in pidgin.

"Hmm... Sorry oh." She replied in mock plea with a scowl on her face.

I went to my seat just as the first bell rang signifying the beginning of the first period. Tobi who followed me was saying, "Simi please na... I'm really sorry."

Something in my head just snapped and I said, "See, Tobi this relationship cannot work. I've had enough."

"What are you trying to say?" His expression quickly changed and his face read utter confusion.

"I'm saying there's no longer an 'us'." I said making air quotes with my fingers and stressing on the 'us'.

His face fell but I just looked away.

I can't believe I just said that in front of everyone and the class was so quiet.

"That was the bell some minutes ago there must be a teacher in your class now". I said.

Abeg, I just wanted him to leave. I couldn't look at him or bear his presence any longer.

Teni in her usual manner shouted, "Eh eh.... Sim card has disconnected her network oh..."

The entire class burst out in laughter.

I didn't really care right now.
I just brought out my books and prepared for the class ahead.

Ugh.... History class!! Well I guess Tobi and I are now history.
