I stand upon stained glass, only a small circle of purple visible to me. The rest is cloaked in white light.

"Banisher of Darkness," I hear a call and look around. There is nobody there. In front of my eyes, the white light lifts up from the stained glass and I can see it fully. There was me, sleeping, with stars and... other patterns. "You are a Keeper of Light," the voice continues.

I scoff, a bit. "And, who are you, disembodied voice?"

"You are not meant to know yet, young Keyblade Wielder."

"Then why are you talking to me?"

"Because I am your guide. You are to protect light, and stop it from expiring due to the dark. There are five Unions, each one protecting it." A glass staircase forms, leading to another circular stained glass platform. I walk forward, as it clinks under my boots. I stand in the middle and see five separate sections.

"Which Union does your Heart belong to, young one?" A red one, with a circle encasing a unicorn. Unicornis. I look to my right, a blue one encased with a snake. Anguis. I look down, with a brown one encasing a leopard. Leopardos. I look up and to my left. A light blue encasing a bear. Ursus. That's when I take a look at the last Union, pastel pink surrounding a fox. Vulpeus.

"My heart belongs to Vulpeus," I declare, choosing it. A flash of pink light appears before my eyes.

"You are almost ready, child." The voice tells me. "But first, I wish to ask you something."

"And what would that be?" I asked.

"A young Vulpeus wielder, his name is Solivus, has been wanting a sister for a long while. Your genetic code is similar to his." It begins, stopping briefly, before continuing. "I can make some slight changes to this, no worries - it will not affect your abilities. It will merely change your looks a bit. Instead of a more... natural hair color, yours will be purple, and you will have freckles. If that is not an appearance you want your heart to take.."

This voice was taking too long. "Sure. Am I his older or younger sister?"

"You'll be his younger sister."

"Alright, very well."

I turn to the door, waiting for it to open. "Before you go through, I want to give you a name."

I look around. "I don't choose my own name?"

"Many Keyblade Wielders do. But you will not, for you are the missing piece, the blank space. Your name will reflect that: you are Lacuna."

That was that, and the light fades away. I find myself sitting on a fountain in the middle of a town. I take a look around, seeing cream-ish buildings. What I did not expect to see was a shadow creatures, that looked like ants, with large yellow eyes. There one that was bigger than the rest, and it moves towards me. Its body staggers, and its claws are outstretched. I let out a scream. Eww, bugs! What were these things? How did they become so huge?

I run away, but they all follow me. I keep running against the tiles, and then I see the world spin around me before I feel pain against my cheek and along my leg.

I fell, I realized, but it was too late. The creature made its way to me. I out my hand up, bracing for the impact. Instead, a flash of light appears in front of my eyes. There was a sword in front of me, a pastel blue with a star, and a deep blue handle. Was this that "Keyblade" the voice was speaking about? I get ready to swing it whatever way I can.

"Oi! Leave her alone, I've been wanting a little sister for eight years now, and I'm not gonna let some weak shadow ants take her away!" Out of the blue, a young man with brown hair and green eyes leaps down from a roof, stabbing his brown, carved Keyblade into the creatures. They disappear and he stands above where they once were, huffing.

He then turns, and smiles at me. His blade appears in a fade of light and he laughs a bit, pointing to my blade. "Why don't cha put Starlight away, huh? I ain't a Heartless."

"Starlight?" I ask, confused.

He sighs and makes a "tch" sound. "The Keyblade, silly! That pastel blue thing," he points at it. I wave my hand around until it goes away.

"So, who are you?" I ask, helping myself to get up. I didn't want to be too weak to not be even able to stand up.

"Solivus," he introduces himself, and offers me a handshake. I shake his hand before drawing it back.

"Wait, so you're my brother?" I ask, a bit confused. "What's with the brown hair? I woulda thought you had purple hair, or at least red or blue."

He laughs, "Because I'm not bout that 'anime protagonist life'. In one of those, Your Hero's School, the poor kid has green hair!"

I can't help but laugh at that. I didn't even know what Your Hero's School was, but hey, he tried to be a joke.

We chuckle for a bit longer before he looks at me and realizes something. "So, your name?"

"Lacuna," I say simply.

"Well, that's nice, but I think I'll call you Lala for now. How's that sound?"

I let out a sigh, turning around. "Annnd I'm gonna start looking for another brother."

He gives a shocked look, green eyes widening in disbelief. "H-h-hey! I was joking, Lala!"

I pretend not to hear, just to keep this going and sit down at the Fountain Square.

That's when I hear a voice, "You should apologize to your brother!"

I look and see a cute, gray cat looking thing. It had a cape and a bag with a white star. "And who are you, telling me to apologize to him? The next thing he'll say is that-"

"Hey, Lala!" He cuts me off, smiling and making a somewhat teasing comment. "You should really sing!"

I turn around and the bipedal cat yells. "Lacuna, no!" I turn towards it.

"And, who are you?" I ask.

"I am your Chirithy, your guide. And as such, I advise you and Solivus to make up. And go home." It makes an odd noise when I go to pick it up and carry it on my shoulder.

"Sure, Soli." I call to my brother. "Show me the way."
