Reader POV
I frowned with a minuscule grunt as the Duros bounty hunter passed me with a minor nudge to my shoulder. I was not happy, nor was he. I sighed and turned to follow the frustrated man. I was not sure what would clear things up at that point, but I knew one thing was for sure, he was pissed, "Are we going to talk about this...or not? Instead of rushing off like that, why don't we-"
"Why don't we...what?" He smirked at me and rolled the half-chewed toothpick around in his gnarled teeth. He stared at me with an intense glare. His eyes were like rubies. They shimmered with such intensity in the sun, yet had a slight glowing glimmer in the dark of night, "Y'know, kid, I am beginning to think you like getting me upset," He flicked the toothpick out of his hand and approached me. I hesitantly stepped back with a sudden fear that he was REALLY upset, but that was not the case. I half-flinched and opened one squinted-shut eye when he had no physical response.
"What, you think I'm going to hurt you? Ha, that ain't the case, kid. But, I did want to ask something of you." He hunched down to my level and leaned up against the hull of his ship. It was getting dark out, so I was pretty sure he would want to get whatever was going on over with asap...or he was just getting started, "You're not jealous, are you?" He raised a brow and waited for me to react. His half-lidded glare set my heart ablaze with a sudden flutter that I was unsure of how to respond other than a deep blush strewn across my face. I hesitated, as I usually always did. I attempted to muster up the ability to reply, with confidence. It took me several minutes, but in the end I accomplished a minor goal.
"Well...no..maybe," I raised my arm behind my head and scratched my scalp, anxious habits die hard, I guess. I am sure I said what he wanted to hear, because he smirked with the sign that his ego had thoroughly been stroked. He crossed his arms and swiveled to rest onto his right hip, "I just..I'm not used to you being flirtatious with...them," He knew what I was referring to. Those twi'lek slaves and dancers in Jabba's palace. I mean, they made me kind of uncomfortable as it was, but I just shrugged it off, usually.
"Well, then, (Y/N), I appreciate your..honesty. Maybe I can find a way to show you that you mean more to me den' they do," Bane brushed his index finger and thumb over my face, and he pinched my cheek with a sudden bout of flirting on his part. I did as usual, tucked my neck and raised my shoulders to hide my blushing expression. His accent...you should not get me started on that. I find myself anxious and at his heels. I had never found myself into relationships before I ran headlong into Cad Bane. He taught me that I cannot always be scared; that I should attempt to be more confident and add some aggression to my roster of actions and emotions.
I am not completely changed, but I feel I am different, for the better.
