The shattering

Prologue

"My, what a delicious supply of darkness inside you!" The amorphous sphere says while keeping me pinned to where I am right now. He is powerful. Too powerful. Yet there is something familiar about him.  The way he can override my hold on the game without me even putting up a fight. Almost as if I knew him before all this.

"I see you have some memory still within you Monika." the amorphous sphere speaks again.

"I see it is buried though that precious othersight you possess, "He says as I feel a bolt of electricity shock from within me.

"No doubt this is because you were stuck in this loop for 9999 iterations. No matter I can easily fix this."

Fix what??

The amorphous sphere solidifies for a moment and within it, I feel something beating. Does this thing have a human heart?  

I notice too late that something is happening within me also. Two opposite polarities are forming on either side of me and growing on each end.

One side is cold and hard to reach and it seems not even light can reach it.

Darkness it calls itself.

  the other side is calling to me also, this side is warm and caring and being closer to it makes me feel safe.

Light it calls itself.

Trust him he knows what's best for you.  that is the last thing I hear it say before I am pulled away from either side.

"I apologize for doing this to you but to fix the corruption within you I need to re-balance your  LtD ratio."

"I'm sorry what the hell is the LtD ratio??" I finally ask him.

"Its the ratio of light to darkness in an individual and currently thanks to you looping in this world for eternity your LtD ratio is much more leaning towards darkness."

"After all if that was not the case you would not have just tried to kill the blank slate and I would not have needed to stop this charade from starting altogether"

"hang on how did you know that was what I was going to do"

"well you never hold that knife unless you out of whack, " a part of his amorphous sphere moved to gesture towards the knife of Yuri's I was holding, "And after I absorbed the blows I noticed how much darkness is coursing through your form."  he continued.

"But enough chat, the time for catching up, for now, is over; I have to solve this balance alteration before things get much worse."

Suddenly the two sides of me holding both light and darkness were pushing away from each other. 

"I feel like I am going to be split into two"

"You hit the nail on the head there Monika."

"Wait you're tearing me in half???? How?? Why?? won't that kill me??"

"if it was done normally very much so but this is far from a normal process, put simply once it is done, which it will be in about 30 seconds, out of balance Monika will turn into two Monika's."

"one that is fully made of Light"

"and one made of darkness"

"Are you insane??  don't you realize how dangerous having a fully dark me loose will be? She would be impossible to contain" I say while trying to slow down the process

    "I am a reality hacker my dear Monika, the first in fact, Impossible odds is kind of in the job description."

Somehow I can tell he can sense me trying to stop his process from going through.
