John's POV

A few months ago I had written a new song, "I Want To Break Free".  I was very proud of myself for the masterpiece, but I was still confused about what we should do for the music video. Of course, I went to my three goofballs that I call friends.

"Oh, we should do something extravagant!" Freddie said, waltzing his way around the room.

"Come on Fred. How about we do something simple?" Brian asked, leaning up against the wall, his eyes on Freddie as he paced the room.

"Any ideas, Roger?" I asked, turning to face the blonde.

"Yes, actually." He said as a mischievous grin grew on his face, "What about drag?"

"Pfft, Roger be serious! We can't do drag! We'd be killed by mobs of angry people! Or, something of that nature..." Brian exclaimed, throwing his hands up in the air.

"I think that Roger's idea is fabulous! I've always wanted to experiment with drag!" Freddie stated while walking over to a couch.

"Fred you can't be serious! I mean-" Brian couldn't finish the sentence without Roger butting in.

"How about this? Why don't we ask John about how he feels about dressing up in drag, hmm? John?"

Roger stared intently at me, his big blue puppy dog eyes quivering at me, looking as if he might cry.

"Well, I, uh", I stumbled over my words, trying to think about the band being in drag and how the public would react.

"I mean, we could give it a shot? See how things turn out." I breathed out, regretting my decision.

"John?! Have you lost your bloody mind? And I thought that you were the most civilized one in the band!" Brian gasped, glaring at me all the while.

"Whatever, Bri. It'll be fun, I promise!" Freddie said with a wink, then walking into the kitchen for a cup of tea.

"Well this is going to be something else.  Oh dear..." Brian mumbled, taking a seat on the couch.

Later that day

I walked into my house, closed the door, and let out a yawn. It had been a long day of rehearsing, and I was still puzzled about the meeting this morning about the music video.

"Oh, hey honey!" Veronica wrapped me in a hug, and squeezed my shoulders.

"Hello" I mumbled, resting my head on her shoulder.

"Is something wrong? After rehearsal you are usually dying to tell me about your day!" Veronica said, leading me into the kitchen.

"Well, you see, I brought up the topic of my new song today, and I asked the band what they wanted to do for the music video..." I said, sitting down on a stool.

"And...?" Veronica asked, stirring a pot of stew.

"Roger suggested doing drag, and I agreed..." I spoke, putting my head in my hands.

"Oh, don't be so hard on yourself! Drag would be fun!" Veronica giggled, making her way around the island in the kitchen.

"Are you sure? I mean, it's a little risky, isn't it? What about the press and-"

Veronica presses her lips against mine. She pulled away and whispered, "You will be fine."

I nodded in agreement and leaned in towards Veronica. We kissed again, but this time interrupted by the doorbell.

"Ugh, who could it be!" I grumbled, making my way down the hall and to the front door. I slowly opened the door, revealing Roger and a girl, who I assumed, he would shag later tonight.

"Yes, Roger?" I spoke quietly, glaring at him.

"Have you made up your mind about the drag idea yet, Deaks?" Roger slurred. 'Probably drunk' I thought to myself.

"Yeah, we'll do it." I mumbled, still unsure.

"Well good. Be at the studio at 8:30, sharpp, 'kay buddy?" Roger leaned towards the door. "Oh, bring 'Ronica too!" He gleefully added.

"Okay, see you tomorrow! Bye." I slammed the door in his face, and leaning against the door.

What did Roger have in mind?
