Harry laid awake in bed looking through the potions book edited by The Half Blood Prince. O.W.L's were coming up and he hadn't spent any time studying for them. He was confident enough about the other classes, it was potions he was worried about. The whole year he had been using that book to cheat him through the classes and making Slughorn proud. He hadn't thought once about weather Dumbledore would let them use their books on their O.W.L's. Which obviously, he was not going to because it would have all the answers to the questions in it.
Harry had thought for a quick moment that he could ask Ron or Hermione to help him study but he blew that thought away quickly. Ron and Hermione are both terrible teachers. When Hermione tries to teach, she just talks really fast and uses complex words that Harry hadn't known of. Then of course when he asks, Hermione would get all bratty saying things like, "Harry you must pay attention if your every going to learn!". Even if Harry tried to confront her about the way she teaches, she would just disagree and blame it on Harry himself. I mean not that Hermione was a brat...
And then for Ron, he cant explain anything well in general. When he attempts to teach, he gets all sweaty and starts stuttering. He'll also have to stop and think a while about what he's going to say next. Plus, he also says 'um' way to much, throwing Harry off track.
Harry had wished a certain someone didn't come up into his head...He's already helped Harry so much and he has his own mental health to deal with. It's definitely a last resort Harry decided...but then, it seems that he is at his last resort. Hell.
Harry sat down next to Ron and Hermione in the Great Hall for breakfast, still contemplating if he should and if he does, how to ask Draco to help him prepare for his O.W.L's.
Hermione noticed the frustration on Harry's face as he dozed off and took it upon herself to ask what was wrong.
" Oh nothing...just. O.W.L's are coming up and--"
"And you haven't studied," Hermione interrupted. "Well I can help you if you really need."
"Oh no! I'm okay."
"I can help you mate," Ron joined in the conversation.
"Oh no really, it's okay Ron," Harry replied. Ron and Hermione both opened their mouths ready to say something again but Harry beat them to it. "I actually have already got myself a partner.." Harry smiled slightly trying to cover his lie. "Yeah i'm going to his dorm tonight."
"Well who is it then?" Ron asked.
"Er--well..he doesn't want me saying."
"Oh." Hermione said.
"Well good luck mate," Ron said with a dorky smile spilling across his face.
Harry hurried back to the Gryffindor dorm during his break knowing that he didn't necessarily have a choice anymore. He would have to ask Draco to help him study for potions and defense against the dark arts. (Stupid Snape.)
Harry walked up the steps to the boys dormitory and walked over to the nightstand sitting next to his bed. He opened it and pulled out a piece of parchment and a quill.
Draco,
I am truly sorry for having to ask you this outrageous question but I happened to have had to lie to Hermione and Ron and so now I have no choice. I know your going through a lot of stuff right now, though you seem to be doing better...I completely understand if you decline.
I know this will sound crazy and I know your already tutoring me enough to the point where your getting sick of seeing my face...I really need help studying for my O.W.L's, specifically potions. I know I've been doing really good all year but since where friends now I shouldn't have to lie to you. I've been cheating. I'll explain it all to you when I see you.
