Pertaining to his professional career, he started teaching in New York Department of Education in the Fall of 1999 until Spring of 2003. In 2003, Tawfik started his teaching career with Prince George's County Public School until 2017. Formerly serving as an Assistant Principal at Bladensburg High School, he always came up with his best leadership skills for the overall instructional program. It included the selection and hiring of support and instructional staff. Besides, he assisted in the development and communication of administrative policies dealing with academic, discipline and attendance.

Providing instructional support to the department head, faculty member or a supervisor, and directing the instruction and tutoring to the students, an instructional specialist possesses great organizational skills and considerable knowledge of the specific subject matter. Besides, he instructs, guides, and supports the students through his good communication and problem solving skills. Being an instructional specialist at High School Consortium, Tawfik Adams collaborated with the school principals to regularly analyze the school wide plan, plan interventions and make the curricular adjustments.

Pertaining to his education credentials, Tawfik Adams completed his Doctorate of Education in Educational Leadership from Bowie State University. He received the dissertation of the Year Award for "Determining the Relationship of Principal's Leadership Styles (Transformational, Transactional, Laissez-Faire) on Teacher Job Satisfaction at Various Career Stages".

He earned a professional certificate in Educational Leadership from Southern Connecticut State University in 2000. He also possesses Maryland Advanced Professional Certificate in endorsements including Admin I and Admin II, and History.
