"ALRIGHT LADIES, LINE UP! IT'S SHOWTIME." Said the Director.
The models that were in the dressing room hurried to get in line. I scoffed at their sudden move. You can tell they're new to the industry. You can feel their nervous aura around the room. Hm, poor babies. I remained at my seat checking my makeup once again. Making sure no mark was shown on my face whatsoever.
My leg started to shake as the anticipation was running through my body. "Baby, you're a star." I whispered to myself as I stared deeply into the mirror.
"Yeah that's exactly what you are darling." Jade smiled approaching me.
She took her lipstick and ran it over her full plump lips.
"Girl we got like 20 minutes before we walk. The hell I gotta line up for?" I said.
She smirked. "More like 5 minutes now let's go." She said grabbing my arm.
We hurried and lined up with the last five models to walk out. My other bestfriend Ajah was lined up right before Jade.
"Hey mama. Beautiful dress." I said. She smiled and looked down.
"Thank you." She said quietly.
We were walking for the infamous Gucci in L.A. and so far the show was going smooth. Times like this I see how blessed me and my friends are. We've been through so much to get to where we're at in life. Throughout everything, we all overcame. It's amazing to have these two by my side still. You don't see that very often in the modeling world. Finally, it was the last three. Ajah, Jade & myself. Ajah stepped up, and blew us a kiss before she burned the runway.
Our walks are very different compared to others. Ajah-the youngest, is known for her light yet deadly walk. She shows innocence and it drives people crazy. Jade- the oldest, shows pure silky, sex appeal. From her eyes to her glorious hour glass figure. Her walk is very slow showing poise, giving everyone a chance to see everything. You can't help but to be in awe when she walks.
She tells younger models, "Take your time, it's in your hands." Which is actually true. Now me, I'm not sure of my walk. You can say it's very bold and strong. I like to take long struts. To get it over with honestly. I'm very focused.
I realized I was the very last one. I walked up to the stage waiting for the lights to hit and music to play.
"Let's do it." I mumbled.
The lights finally hit and it was Go time. My first steps were when I felt all eyes on me. Immediate "oooooo" and "aaaaahhhs" coming out of people mouths. I flashed a smile as I walked. Glancing to the sides, I see designers I am acquainted very well with. I don't see how I get this much love from people. I always thought my walk was pretty boring. I guess not to them.
As I was at the end of my walk, I pulled back my shoulders, put my hands on my hips and flashed a million dollar smile. I glanced to see my husband Kevin. His eyes were different. I knew what those eyes were telling me. Oh God. But, I felt a different pair of eyes staring at me like they were staring inside of my soul.
Beside Kevin, was a man with a deep dark glasses and curly hair. He had an emotionless face. Hm. I couldn't see anything else since it was so dark. As we all walked again for the final walk, there was a standing ovation as Marco Bizzarri said his thank you speech. The man clapped but still had that same blank expression. Hmm.
