Tainted Love

The attack

Baekhyun broke free of the boy's grip, quickly breaking into a run. He ran as far and as fast as he could, knowing he needed to get home before something bad happened. He still heard his brother telling him to run and he finally responded. 'I'm on my way back, what's going on back at home?' He asked his younger brother, waiting for a response before heading back. He found shelter in the woods and hid from the werewolf and listened for his brother's thoughts but the line was silent. He sent out the message again but this time to his younger brother and his father, needing an answer before heading back. But when he heard no response from either line, he knew something was up.
    When he arrived at home, he found that the house was silent and seemingly empty. This wasn't right. He decided to call out to his family but instead of hearing their voices, he heard a growl as a werewolf in his wolf form emerged from the darkness of the hallway. He braced himself for an attack and planted his feet to the ground, gathering up all of his strength. The wolf lunged at him but another wolf bursted through the front door, taking the hit for him. He put up a shield for himself to protect against the attack. The second wolf grabbed the first one by its neck and bit down hard as if forcing it to submit.
    Baekhyun backed against the wall and watched the wolf fight. It showed that the second wolf was more of an alpha than the other and that the other wasn't really an alpha at all. Something was off about this whole set up. After the alpha forced the other to submit fully to him, the wolves changed into their wolf forms. The alpha wolf morphed into the boy he had met earlier but had escaped. Without thinking, Baekhyun ran out the front door but was stopped by the alpha.
    The alpha grabbed onto the back of his shirt and kept him from running any further. "Stay here, don't leave. If you leave, the rest of my pack will hunt you down and kill you within seconds just as they have done to your brother and father. Stay here in my protection and you might live to fight another day. And trust me I don't want you dying just yet. Go back inside for a moment and pack a bag." He said in a husky voice.
Baekhyun was at a loss for words, the remainder of his family had just been murdered and now this alpha werewolf wanted him to pack a bag and come with him. He did as the other had instructed, his mind overcrowded with thoughts that shouldn't be in his mind now. He walked up the stairs and ran his hand along the worn down railing, taking a deep breath. He was deeply saddened with the news of his family's passing and felt like crying his eyes out but no tears would fall. He smelled the rusty smell of sweet blood and took a deep breath, closing his eyes. He stood at the top of the stairs and became engulfed with the new scent. He had never smelled this before but he knew he must find whatever it was that smelled this way.
