Prologue

(third person)

"Nova!" A child about ten years of age called to the older girl. She looked at him, and gave a soft smile.
"Yes, Miki?" The boy's eyes lit up like a firefly.
"Look!" He raised his little hands, he held something in them, the edges sparkled when the bright sun hit the metal ring, attached to it was a copper cross like design. Miki's smile got bigger.
"Daddy needed help in the shop today, he said if I helped him he'd let me make something of my very own!" Nova's eyes held curiosity as she lifted the necklace from Miki's hands.
"it's beautiful!" Miki was an Elf, elves were known for their craftsmanship, Miki clearly had that talent, Nova knew this was his first craft.
"Mom says I'm a natural!" but Miki wasn't full elf, he was half Marc, Marc's belong to the woods, they were great survivalist, usually mean to others and they prefer to be alone. They are tall in stature and their skin is a murky brown coloration to help them blend in, they normally have slit eyes and a slight curve to their ears. Miki's mother was one of the few Marc's that was kind. Nova learned a lot of survival skills from that women.
"Now I must start buying my crafts from you" The Small boy giggled.
"Here let me show you how it works!" As Miki rotated the necklace, he took Nova's hand.
"In order for it to be opened you have to prick your finger here" he pointed to the once smooth middle section of the metal which now had a pointed piece sticking out. Nova placed her index finger over it, letting it pierce the skin and draw blood, she let out a small laugh as the necklace suddenly opened.
"that's amazing! how did you get it to do that!" Miki's little cheeks turned pink.
"I got my secrets" the child paused before placing the necklace around his neck.
"only me and you can open it now, if you ever want too wear it, let me know!"
Nova gave Miki a hug, she crouched down to his height to make it easier.
"will do Little one."
"NOVA!" Nova rotated her head as her mother called for her.
"Coming! gotta go Miki, see you around"

To those that have read this book before, I rewrote this mostly because I had chapters written that were not published and they suddenly disappeared. I also took notice to the fact that this book wasn't planned out, and generally had no plot, so I am rewriting this and (hopefully) trying to make it better! Thanks For Reading! Hope You Liked It!
