You and Violet Baudelaire had known each other since you were kids. You were best friends and always invented things together. You would always give her your ideas and she would always give you hers. Everything was normal and happy until the day the fire killed her parents and they were moved through a series of scary situations. You hadn't seen her four years and you had nearly forgotten about her. It wasn't until you heard that Violet had finally inherited the Baudelaire fortune and was moving back into town was when you finally remembered all the moments you shared together. All those mornings spent in the backyard, all those afternoons spent inventing, all those evenings spent in their library, you remembered it all. You were so excited to see her again! It had been so long!

"I can't wait to see Violet, Klaus and Sunny!" you said to yourself as you wrapped a batch of freshly baked cookies tightly, so they wouldn't spoil.

You pranced over to the second Baudelaire Mansion with such delight! It wasn't even that long of a walk. Or, at least it didn't seem long, given how happy you were. You were finally going to see your friend again, after all those long years! You were so excited to see what Violet looked like and how they decorated the new Baudelaire Mansion. You could hardly wait!

You lightly knocked on the newly painted door, careful not to get splinters on your fingers, when the door opened wide. You looked around but you couldn't see anyone.

"Down here!" a voice chimed in.

You looked down and saw a young girl with light blonde hair who most definitely was Sunny. She had grown so much since the last time you had seen her, it was almost unreal!

"Hi Sunny! How have you been?" you asked.

"I'm doing fine, thank you ma'am." Sunny responded, rather politely for a youngling, "But, who are you?"

Then it hit you. You remembered Sunny was only a baby when you had seen her last and, even when you knew her, you did not hang out with her much, seeing as she was infant.

"Oh, forgive me, I'm F/N L/N." you said, holding out your hand for Sunny to shake. "I'm one of Violet's old friends. I knew you when you were just an infant."

"Y/N?" you heard a voice call out. It certainly wasn't Violet's. Violet didn't have a deep voice. Did she? It had been a while.

You looked up from Sunny's gaze and into a boy's gaze. You looked and saw Klaus Baudelaire, glasses and all.

You remembered that even though you and Klaus were the same age, you didn't hang out with him much either. You thought boys were gross. Seeing as you were 12, it was understandable. But Klaus had grown a lot and so did you.

"Klaus Baudelaire," you said, beamingly, "Well, I'll be darned. You haven't changed a bit."

You were lying. He was much taller than the last time you saw him. And he was much more handsome too.

"Well you have." Klaus said, smiling slightly. "Still have that book I lent you that you never returned?"

You remembered the book that sat on your library shelf and felt slightly embarrassed.

"The Great Gatsby!" you said, laughingly. "I haven't read that book in years!"

"Me either." Klaus teased. "Well I haven't since it wasn't in our library. You haven't because you haven't decided to pick it up."

You laughed at his sarcasm. "I don't remember you being this snarky Klaus."

The both of you looked at each other looking deep into each other's eyes. You hadn't noticed Klaus's eyes before. They were this dark brown with a small hint of nutmeg color. They were beautiful.

Sunny crossed her arms and rolled her eyes. "Well aren't you going to invite her in so I can make her something to eat?"

Klaus snapped out of his trance. "Right, right of course, I'm sorry. Where are my manners?" He offered his arm to you, "Care to stay for lunch madam?"

You wrapped your arm into his. "Why of course good sir."

He escorted you to the kitchen with Sunny in the lead. When you arrived in the kitchen you set the cookies down on the table and took a seat.

"I'm sure you want to see Violet, Y/N." Klaus exclaimed, clapping his hands together. "I'll go get her right now! I bet she's with Beatrice right now so, excuse me if this takes a while." He quickly ran off and you could hear his footsteps as he climbed up the steps.

You let out a little sigh as you unwrapped your cookies and took a little nibble of one.

After a moment a silence, besides for the sounds of some drawers opening and closing, you asked "Would you like a cookie Sunny?" you pulled another one out and held it out to her.

"No thank you. I prefer oatmeal raisin." she replied.

You embarrassingly put the cookie back, blushing as you ate the rest of yours.

"So," you said, making small talk, "Who is Beatrice? Violet's partner?"

Sunny made a strange looking face as she shook her head.

"Nope." she remarked, pulling out some pans and a small butter knife, "It is a very long story but I'm sure Violet would love to tell you all about it."

You look concerned as Sunny turned on the stove. "Are you sure it is safe for you to be using that? You are still quite young."

"I might be young but, it doesn't mean I can't cook!"

Sunny put the pan on the stove and waltzed over to the refrigerator. She pulled out a package of ground beef, some very fresh dill, cucumbers and lettuce.

"I'm making a Sunny Special!" Sunny declared, "Beef and cucumber salad! I came up with the recipe myself!"

You giggled slightly. "That is extraordinary Sunny!"

You watched her cook for a little while longer until you heard some footsteps and two voices. You could only make out a bit of their conversation, but it was very funny to you.

"Klaus, you better not be lying, or I'll strangle you like the Mamba du Mal!"

"I'm not lying, I swear!"

Then you saw her. Your best friend. Her eyes lit up like a thousand diamonds as she raced to you.

"Y/N!" She shouted, "Y/N! It's been so long!"

She pulled you into a warm embrace. "I've missed you, old friend."

You felt some tears well in your eyes as you hugged her closer.

"I've missed you too Violet. I've missed all of you."

The two of you broke away from your hug as she held her hands on your shoulders. You looked over her shoulder to see Klaus holding another toddler. She looked about three years old.

"Violet, who is this?" you asked pointing over to Klaus and the baby.

Violet grabbed the small infant out of Klaus's arms and into her own.

"This," she exclaimed, "Is baby Beatrice Baudelaire."

"The second!" Sunny added, as she threw diced beef into the pan.

You smiled at Beatrice and she smiled back. "It is very nice to meet you Beatrice."

Sunny flipped the pan around a little bit as she said, "Well everyone, take a seat! Lunch is almost ready! And while I finish making it, Violet, Klaus, I think you should tell Y/N our series of unfortunate events!"

"That is a splendid idea." Klaus said.
