???: What are you? I can tell by your soul that you're something ancient. Unlike myself and the others, you've seen a lot more than a simple life before all of this started.

Of course, you felt another terrible headache as the voices echoed in your mind. Even Nepgear noticed since you gave off a few painful grunts as you were awaking for the day.

Nepgear: What's wrong (Y/N)?

(Y/N): I guess just the usual memory headache... What are you doing in here?

Nepgear: I came to see if you were feeling any better than yesterday. Neptune and Uzume left for a quick patrol so I stayed behind to make sure you've recovered. Well,  how do you feel now?

(Y/N): Well let's find out.

Your body was no longer in pain when you quickly jumped to your feet from the sleeping mat. The CPU candidate was quite glad to witness you back in action as you stretched your muscles.

(Y/N): It's as if nothing ever happened. *Grunt* Phew, being stuck in bed sucks. Thanks... For watching over me, I really do appreciate it.

Nepgear: You're quite welcome! I'm always glad to help someone in need.

You smiled from the girl's positivity before grabbing your coat and began to exit the room.

(Y/N): I need to make a small trip.

Nepgear: Huh? Where could you possibly go?

(Y/N): Back to that abandoned city. The blade from sword I used shattered into pieces but I can still feel the power radiating from whatever is left. So I need to check it out and pick up the pieces.

Nepgear: By yourself? Do you even know where you're going?

(Y/N): Of course, one way or another it's always going to be bound to my soul.

Nepgear: At least let me go with you! Who knows what if that giant is still patrolling that area.

This made a little nervous since you've already felt the full extent of the giant's power. Although it would put Nepgear at risk but you were grateful for her to accompany you for the trip since you enjoy her presence.

(Y/N): Alright, let me just leave this here to let the others know that we'll be returning.

You found a small sheet of paper and a pen to write a small note to inform Neptune and Uzume of your whereabouts. Even then, you summoned a large sniper rifle and placed it against the wall while leaving the note taped to the barrel.

(Y/N): This gun belonged to the first person I've ever met on that hellish journey. It means a lot to me so it makes it more reassuring for us to come back safe and sound.

Timeskip

(Y/N): Wow, this place is even more messed up than I thought. There's even glowing cracks on the ground

Nepgear: We were told by Uzume that the giant is the reason this world is dying. It was even responsible fr every living person to suddenly disappear.

This shocked you as the both of you walked approached the ruined city, although you stopped to take in the view.

(Y/N): Kind of surprising that there were no monster along the way.

Nepgear: You don't think....

(Y/N): Who knows? We're only here for one thing so let's act fast and run from anything that tries to pick a fight.

Nepgear nodded in agreement before the both of you proceeded to enter the ruined city. Unbeknownst to the two of you, there was a black shadow with glowing eyes watching the scene from an abandoned building.

After a few moments of wandering into the ruins, you began to feel the energy from your shattered sword resonate with your soul. In fact, you even began walking towards the direction of the broken pieces.

Nepgear: Are you sure you know where we're going?

(Y/N): Yeah, I can definitely sense it right around the corner.

Nepgear: I see... If you don't mind me asking, what kind of sword is it?

(Y/N): The Musmasa Blade. A blade said to be cursed, anyone who wielded it would become a strong swordsman but in return... The blade would demand blood.

Nepgear: E-erm... T-that sounds... Nice?

(Y/N): Don't worry, I'm only gathering the pieces since it belonged to a friend. She was the only one who mastered the blade and helped me defeat the defeat king.

???: There was no demon king!

You suddenly stopped in hour tracks as another headache returned from the sudden voice. Unfortunately, this headache made you fall to your knees as you gripped your head in pain.

Nepgear: Oh no, are you okay?

The CPU candidate rushed to your side as the pain worsened.

???: So... There really is no way to stop the scourge...

As your eyes opened, they began to glow red until you noticed someone walking in the distance. They reverted to normal as a black silhouette slowly approached. You noticed that the figure held the very same blade that you were searching for throughout the small trip.

(Y/N): Damn it! We need to get out of here!

Nepgear: But you're-

(Y/N): It's too late for that!

Just as you grabbed the girl's hand to run from the scene, a black wall emerged from the ground and separates the both of you, leaving you to face the figure.

(Y/N): Alright, fine!

Without hesitation, a small rifle appeared in one hand and you immediately fire directly at the blade. Much to your relief, the weapon shattered as well as the figure and the dark wall. Nepgear was surprised to find you standing on the other side and quickly rushed to your aid.

Nepgear: The figure is gone!

(Y/N): Yeah... That was quite a surprise.

Just as a precaution, you knelt down beside the hilt of the weapon and slowly picked it up with your hand. There was no effect as you simply stood on your feet before the remains disappeared. You turned around to find Nepgear with fear revealed in her eyes as she struggled to keep her eyes on you.

(Y/N): What's up? Another monster?

The girl simply shook her head and has done her best to put on a light smile.

Nepgear: I-its nothing, I was only worried about the shadow apprsring again.

(Y/N): Well, there's no need to worry. Hopefully it's gone for good, let's head back.

Nepgear: Sure thing!

Much to her relief, things seemed to return to a normal state as the both of you safely returned to Uzume's hideout.

Unbeknownst to you, the goddess witnessed something rather unusual as you retrieved the broken weapon. In fact, it even terrified her since she watched as a transparent figure to your place during the process. Unlike the shadow, it resembled a tall horned monster with multiple wings and face that resembled a demon. At least the figure disappeared as you turned around but she was unable to forget about the appearance of the monster.
