The train station bustled and chimed with horns and whistles between conversations of children and parents. The smoke of the steam engines made clouds and fog across the grounds and sky outside the tunnels, motioning to the children that it was nearing the time of departure. The conductor's waves, yells, and whistles beckoned the last goodbyes to finish up, trying not to give them short notice or rush them. As the last of the luggage packed itself aboard the cargo slots, she made herself up the train steps last. Her half shaved head made others look or snub up their noses as she made down the aisle to find a seat on the train. The combat boots she wore gave her away as she walked making the looks and stares happen before she even appeared in the doorways. As she neared the ending of the cart, her eyes fell on a seat to the left that was empty. Entering the trolley cart she stopped in the doorway suddenly, staring at a young man who was also in the seat across from the empty one, "Oh, I'm sorry I thought I was empty." She began to back away from the doorframe when the young man intruded, "No you're fine, you can sit. I don't mind sharing my seat." She gave a halfway smile before entering through the doorframe again sitting across from him now. "My name is Dalton, you might be?"
"Remy. Call me Remy."
"That's a different name."
Her halfway smile covered her lips again, before she looked out the window at scenery going by them. Silence began to fall between them yet they didn't seem all that uncomfortable with it being there. Though, it was broken here and there when the food cart came by every so often to offer snacks and drinks. She liked her sweets just like he did, though she seemed to be the only brave one to get some of the Secret Gumballs. After the case of the chocolate frogs were gone, Dalton looked up at her once again as she held a few gumballs in her hand, "Which one are you going to try?""I may try the yellow one? No red? Hmmm I don't know."
He chuckled at her response then looked down at the different colors in her hand, "I'll pick one and try one with you then we'll find out together deal?"
"Deal. Okay, 3, 2..." Before she got to one he picked the yellow one and she picked the blue one, "Down the hatch!" They both put the gumballs in their mouths and began to chew them, laughing at each other behind closed mouths. Then moments later as Dalton opened his mouth all he did was let out a huge lion roar instead of his voice, a wide, bright smile forming across his face. As she threw her head back to laugh at his choice, a birds continuous tweeting came out of her mouth! Clapping her hands together in happiness at what they had just done, the roaring lion sound and the tweeting bird sound died away and laughter just erupted from the both of them. "That was awesome!" His voice crackled through the laughter looking at her. Her own eyes fell on his as her laughter continued, "I have a feeling we are going to get along just fine at Hogwarts."
"Yeah, it's good to have someone you know before heading into the unknown." Both their eyes fell on each other again, and their smiles widened on their faces as they spoke at the same time, "It is nice to meet you."
