Ethan Carter was way beyond his years. Though he never bragged about beating me in the seventh grade spelling bee, or winning first place in Arizona's National science fair, he knew he was intelligent.

He understood life and its purpose, and he accepted his. I guess that's what drew me into him.

There was always something about him, something that told you, he is going to do amazing things in life. He didn't make a difference in everyone's life, but he sure as hell made one in mine. For that, I am forever grateful.

Ethan was smarter than anyone you'd ever meet; I just wish he had outsmarted his past too.
