"svea where's marais" daniel asked frantically seeing the picture frame that was where jonah should've been. "hey dani, he headed out for baseball, i can show you where" svea said. "no no, that's ok, thanks though" daniel rushed out of the house.
daniel made it to the park letting out the breath he was holding once he saw jonah's last name sprawled across a jersey. he made the team. this was good news. maybe jonah was just nervous about tryouts. daniel walked over to the bleachers and sat down, watching his best friend celebrate with then other boys he was with. jonah talked about them often and it hurt daniel because he wanted to be here.
jonah looked over to the bleachers finally seeing daniel. he smiled a little and waved. thsis was the first time daniel had seen his face. he was not nervous. not one bit. daniel could see all the hurt in his eyes.
daniel waited for jonah to be done. he was overly anxious for some reason. jonah wasnt the only person who was having issues. daniels anxiety had been getting worse by the day, but he held it all in so he didn't hurt jonah. the last thing he wanted to do was worry jonah.
"hey dani, uh thanks for coming, i uh, i'm sorry" jonah rubbed the back of his neck. daniel stood up and hugged him. "hey anytime, now let's go to kendals and get ice cream" daniel said. jonah agreed and the two boys made their way to the ice cream shop where their whole life would forever change
