( Girls pov)
As the sky became dark and filled with small twinkling lights, a girl with long dark brown hair sits high on a branch while leaning against the trunk of the tree. Her eyes seemed to sparkle in the moonlight as her mind seemed to avoid the thought of sleeping. As she stares at the twinkles of light through the branches of the tree, she noticed a boy with a black cloak a few branches above her. The mysterious boy laid with his back agaist the great oak, as he to, seemed lost in thought while stareing off into the distance. All was quiet except for the occasional gust of wind and rustling of the grass.
Girl's pov.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~"You truly are, his daughter....." Those words kept running through my head. What could they mean....? I had never met my father...... When I was younger, mother said dad was never coming back. When I asked why, all she said was, he went somewhere far away. I never brought up the subject after that because when I did, mother seemed to cry on the inside: her eyes seemed to become glassy and the features opon her face seemed to become forced. I know now, she held back her tears for my sake. She didn't want to seem weak in front of her child. I didn't realize it at first but, mother worked so hard. She cleaned the house while I was away at school, sewed clothes for me, washed dishes, tended the garden, and even ran a bakery. I remember coming home every evening from school and smelling fresh baked bread and pastries. She was truly an amazing person because no matter how hard her life seemed to be, she would always have that same smile on her face. Before I had left the village on my journey, she told me to always keep an open heart and a clear mind.
Those words still resound in my mind everytime I incounter someone or something new. I wonder what she is doing now? " Don't worry mom. I'll be home soon....." I whisper to myself while watching branches of the trees sway in the wind. "Do you always talk to yourself?" A somewhat teasing voice called out from above me. As I looked up to look up at him, he jumped down from the branch he was on, and landed right in front of me. He crouched down to my level and stared at me. His eyes are similar to the ocean: so blue and somewhat dark. After a few moments, I noticed his hand making its way towards my face. "W-what are you.....?l" I asked while trying to back up more on the branch but couldn't because my back was already against the trunk of the tree. "Tch." He muttered to himself while his hand wiped something off my cheek. His eyes seemed to hold a deep saddness within them. His touch is so gentle as his thumb brushes under my right eye. I look at him questionably after a few moments of staring into each other's eyes but, before I could say a word, he jumps back up to his spot, high above me in the branches of the tree.
What was that all about? I ask myself as my hand makes its way up to the spot where his hand rested upon my face. Was he trying to comfort me...? I looked up at the branch in which the boy was now leaning against. His figure almost blends in with the tree as his hands support his neck while looking of into the distance. He really is mysterious..... I wonder what he is thinking about right now?
In any case I should try to get some rest. Although that might be a little difficult since I am on the branch of a tree and one wrong move could become my last. Two, it's freezing! I realize that the mountains are cold but, with the wind blowing and the snow just starting to fall, it makes it even colder than normal. I will just have to make due with what I have because there is no way I am climbing down a tree to gather fire wood in unknown territory in the dark. I mean who knows what's waiting to kill me next out there in the big bad woods: but then again ....... oh never mind. After a few moments of thinking about how my life took a drastic turn for the worst, I curled up into a ball and finally after what seemed like hours, venture into the dream world.
Next morning
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~I wake up the next morning to the sound of birds chirping above my head. I quickly sit up making something soft fall onto my lap. "What's this.......wait. Is this what I think it is....?" I look all around me but see no sign of the mysterious boy. "Yo. You gonna sleep all morning or are you going to help me gather supplies?" A deepish voice states from behind me. I nearly scream as I scramble to my feet making sure to keep hold of the cloak. I turn around quickly to greet him, but end up slipping on some ice that formed on the branches of the tree over night. I fell right onto the boy with jet black hair making him fall backwards. Before I realized it, I was on top of him. With a small groan, I looked up at the boy who was now being supported by his hands as I lay on top of him:my hands were aligned with the boy's lower waist while being supported by the branch. Our faces are inches from each others while a faint pink tint paints both of our cheeks. "Y-Ya know, if you wanted to be closer to me all you had to do is ask." the boy says looking into my eyes while his hands were supporting from behind on the branch. "W-wait! It's n-not what you think!" A smirk crossed his features as he gently pushed me off him and brushed himself off.
His black under shirt had holes through it while his navy blue pants had rips at the seams and many other places although, the armor around his waist covered some of the ripped areas. His black boots that went up to his knees had slices of material missing in various places. "So many holes......." I whisper more to myself while looking the boy over. *sigh* The boy nearly extended his hand while looking away. A small smile formed on my features as I gladly accepted his snow white hand. Almost as soon as my hand was in his, he pulled me towards him. My whole body bumped into his as his hand pulled one of my arms behind his head . "W-wha!!" I yelled in surprise as his free hand made it's way to my waist. I look up to meet his ocean blue eyes which held something arousing in them. While I was busy admiring his features, he took the chance to tie something around my waist. "I need you to spread your legs a little." he whispered in my ear seductively. "W-we just met!! You pervert!!!" I say trying to free my hand and waist from his hands. "Tch. Your over thinking things. Look down little lady." I do what he asks reluctantly, and to my surprise, I see a rope wraped around me. " Now, please spread your legs so I can secure this rope to your body." He says as I cooperate with what he says. The rope creates a harness around my body similar to the ones used for rock climbing on the mountains. "Good now that that's secure, I need to make sure you won't plummet to your death." "W-wait. What do you mean plummet to my death!?" I ask as he jumps high into the tree trying to find a sturdy branch to attach the other side of the rope to. "Simple. I mean you will go splat if this plan fails. Don't worry I am a professional." He says while attaching the rope to a branch a couple feet above from where I was standing. "Your INSANE!" He only smiles back at me before jumping back down to the branch I was standing on. "Ready?" He asks as he takes hold of the rope. "If I have to do this then so do you." I state while grabbing the cloak I had dropped. Quickly before he can say anything, I drape the cloak over his shoulders while closing it around him with my hands. "I believe this belongs to you. U-um thanks for loaning it to me." 😶 " hahahaha" just as suddenly as I said my thanks he bursted into a fit of laughter. "Hahahaha.......you really are just like him ya know that?" "Y-you mean......?" Before I can finish he ruffles my hair and steals a kiss. "Goodbye little lady." He says smiling as the grip I had on the cloak loosens. He takes the opportunity to push me off the tree. Still shock stricken from his actions, I have no time to react as I suddenly, feel my body flying through the air.
"Ahhhhhh!"
