"Come on tony!" I yelled to my little brother. It had been our 2nd week in foster care and I hated it. I wish I knew my dad because I truly wanted to be anywhere but here."nel can we please stop for ice cream we've been walking for an hour now" complained tony. It's true though we've been since 12:00 in the afternoon because I didn't want to stay in the orphanage all day. I work at footlocker in the mall so I get money to take care of me and tony. "Yea what flavor you want?" I asked as we walked up to the ice cream stand in the park." I want chocolate ice cream" Said tony. "Can I have 2 chocolate ice cream please?" "Yea sure coming right up." said a random waitress. 10 minutes later they came back with order and I payed and we walked off somewhere else. Out of know where tony asked me a question I didn't expect. " nel where is mom?" I didn't know how to respond to that because honestly I didn't know. One night my mom just left us and the next morning I expected her to be back but she had something different planned. After 2 weeks of my moms absences I started applying for jobs and lucky me I got hired in footlocker in less than a week. I guess they were really in need of workers. Every since then I hadn't thought about my mom. "I don't know tony." I could see that it had messed with his head a little because the face he gave me when I told him that was everything. I was like I could feel his pain. I immediately got mad at my for everything she had did to us. Beating us,trying to use us for cocaine,and never being there." Wanna go see mr.dain tony" Mr.dain is Tony's barber and like his father figure and would always give us money when he saw us. It was time for tony to get a haircut anyway." Yea but instead of you telling him what I want can I do it this time." "Sure tony what you getting anyway?" " I wanted to get all my hair cut off so I can grow some waves " tony said I gasped I had never seen tony without a head full of hair. My baby was finally growing up . "Are you sure tony cause you can't go back once it's gone" " Yea I'm sure , Imma get all the girls." I laughed and soon enough he joined in. What can I say that my little brother.

" all done " said my barber mr.dain. I looked in the mirror at my fresh tape only to get distracted by the sound of the bell letting mr.dain know somebody was coming in. I looked and saw some kids that looked to be 15 and 8 y/o. The had to be sister and brother cause they looked just alike. "Is mr.dain here asked the girl." " Yea hold on" "I got out the chair only to be met with Mr.dain telling the children hey. " wassup nel and tony!" " nun much Mr.dain tony wants a haircut though." Said the girl " Alright tony get on up here lil bruh . Tony said in the other chair while he told Mr.dain what he wanted and I overheard him say he wanted waves. "Can you cut it all off I want waves?" Yea lil partna you sure though all this hair and you wanna cut it off. "Yes sir" said the little boy. "I told him Mr.dain but he want waves so bad" " Aight" said Mr.dain . " How's your mama nel " said Mr.dain I could tell that was a sensitive question by how she tended up but she still answered. "She left us" said the girl and Mr.dain looked up " again?" Said Mr.dain . "Yea but I don't think she coming back this time.Its been a month now" said the girl. "How y'all holding up " said Mr.dain " well I got a job at footlocker and we got tooken by cps " The girl rubbed her face sensing she was stressed out. "Dave go get that money out the back room"said Mr.dain I got up and went in the back room seeing a stack of money sitting on the table. I came back and gave it to Mr.dain and when he got done cutting the boy's hair he called his sister up. " Nel come here." Said Mr.dain the girl got up and walked over to Mr.dain and looked at her brother and smiled. "Yes Mr.dain" she said take this money and open a savings account and put half of it in there. "Mr.dain I can't take that" said the girl. " and why not " said Mr.dain because it's to much and plus you know I hate taking things from people." "Well you gone take it today and Ian telling you again." "Thanks Mr.dain " said the girl . " you welcome you know I gotchu and yo brotha back ." Said Mr.dain the girl sniped at Mr.dain "come on tony we finygo to the gym" said the girl " coming nel" said the boy. "Bye Mr.dain said both the boy and girl."I hope they see better days nobody needs to be in there predicament.
