It was 2am on a Monday night when I got the call to come into work. A robbery at 'Cash Converters'. I sat up slowly from my bed and looked at the time.

"Great. Just great, another sleepless night." I said to myself.

I got up, put on my uniform along with a thick jacket, gloves, and boots. It was freazing outside and I wasnt planing on getting another cold.

I went to the fridge and grabbed something just to keep me going and headed for the front door. It was a small house but it was just right for me, it was cosey with a nice open plan atmosphere. Just like the street I lived in, it was quiet and friendly. As I turn to shut the front door i heard a voice. I instantly new who it was, my police partner Katherine Riely, she was waiting by her police car for me.

"I guess were going in your car then?" I said running up to the passenger side of the car.

"Yeah well I was up doing paper work anyway and I knew you would take a while to get up and dressed, doesnt hurt to drive you either".

"Paper work at 2 in the morning?!" I smiled and sat in car waiting for Katherine to start driving.

I dont just see her a work partner shes also my bestfriend. Ever scince I met her we have always had this special unbreakble friendship. Probably because we've known eachother since we were 5 years old. Ill never forget us mucking around pretending we were high standed police officers. Now were doing it for real, well maybe not as high standerd as we dreamt, but we'll surely get there.

Katherine was average weight but fit, average hight, short dark hair in a bun, dark skin and brown eyes. She handed me a cup of coffee and turned on the sirens, speeding through the streets to get to the bank as fast as the car possible could. I look down at my watch, 2:08am.

"7 minutes to get there" i thought.

Suddenly another police car flew out infront of us from the street to our right. Theres only one cop in Port Adelaide that drives this crazy when it comes to getting down and dirty with criminals, and that was Luke Taylor. Luke's been on the team for only two months more then I have but he still acts like he owns the place. His tall, fit and built, light skin with blue eyes and short brown hair, and if im not mistaken I swear he has a crush on Katherine. You would catch him flirting with her every chance he gets. If anything, him driving like this is probably him trying to impress her. But judging by the look on her face, I dont think he is doing a very good job.

I stopped focusing on that and focused on the crime and what procedures needed to be done. As we were getting closer and closer to the store, I got a rush of excitement. Not many crimes happen in this area, so it's rare for any of the people in the police to have some really action. But this, this what everyone has been waiting for. We pulled up with the sirens blaring. I took a deep breath and quickly forced open the car door and stood behind it, grabbing my gun and pointing it towards the door of the store. While Katherine turned the sirens off.

"This is the police! Drop your weapons and come out with your hands up! NOW!" Yelled Luke from the left side of Katherine's car.

A dark human shaped shadow made its way to the door. Peering through the glass doors, came another. And another. And another. There was about four of them. They slowly opened the door and took a step out. *chick-click* was all that you could hear from all the loading guns. All four came out wearing black masks, jeans and dark coloured jackets. They slowly raised their hands above their heads.

"Kneel down on the ground!"

They eventually did as they were told, except one who decided to be an idiot and make a run for it to my right. Without hesitation, I shoved my gun in it's pouch and ran after him. My heart begins pounding after climbing over fences, jumping bins and other large objects, and trying to keep an eye on the criminal.
