The carriage pulled up to my Aunt's mansion. It was a chilly, crisp day as the colorful autumn leaves gets carried by the settling wind. I held my skirt up as I let myself down and picked up my bag.

As I walked inside, there were men sitting down around the dining room table and clinked glasses half full of alcohol. Aunt Gertrude smiled cheerfully as she openly walked over to me from the living room.

"Oh Eliza!" She exclaimed as I warmfully hugged her. She smelt like a fresh autumn smell of hazelnuts and vanilla. My face was flushed with fullness, not aware of the men looking at me. A man at the table stood, and walked over to me and Gertrude. I softly laid my eyes upon the dashing man as she held my hand and squeezed it comfortably.

"Eliza, I would like to introduce you to Aide de camp of General George Washington, Alexander Hamilton" Gertrude said.

Alexander had sparkling deep blue eyes as if someone placed arctic jewels in fresh snow. His hair was like a ginger fox's tail. I felt a strong wave of heat staining my cheeks as I felt him staring at me as well. I lifted my dress and curtsied

"It's a pleasure to meet you. Thank you for your service." I uttered out obviously nervous what he thought of me.

"If it takes fighting a war for us to meet, it will have been worth it." He replied with a sly smirk and a bow.

My cheeks flushed a deep rose as I kept staring into his snowy, arctic eyes. I held my breath in not aware of the men's jaws dropping. I never thought how much of a stranger I was with change until I met him in the years to come.
