Silence.

Silence, the noise that has no sound, yet is deafening. It’s strange really, silence, something that is everywhere but not. It hides in the shadows of sound, of music, of laughter. But it is always there. Overlooked. You try to put it in the back of your mind, How loud the silence can be. How monstrous it can become. How could something that was nothing be there the entire time. Even your breathing was overcome by the silence. Your cries had long disappeared into the void of nothingness, as you sit there. Numb. The silence takes over you, It is you, and the silence. It swallows your hope, your dreams, your light, your voice. And you wait, listening to the scream of silence. It overpowers you, The silence swirled around you, screaming, it held on to you like a vice. Suddenly noise broke the silence, only for a moment, Beeps… Something unknown, it continued 3 times before another noise, a thump, a heart. It joined, and you had never been so happy to hear noise. It continued, before spacing out, the silence overtaking it, before it came back. You reached out for the sound, however the Silence was winning, it was not fearful of Sound taking its place. After the eighth sound a loud and long shrill note filled the air, before it stopped. And you were once again thrust in Silence, but this time, no noise would save you…
