This Rath world map is missing a few things but I can't put a finger on them. I am unhappy with the barrier mountains. They might have formed through continental plates pushing up on each other for a very young planet. maybe? The barrier mountains keep the empires separate. They have fought a 500-year war over the technology of metalworking. Older metals came from the deep south or far east. Newer metal ores and the technology to make stronger swords and better weapons comes from the north. The barrier mountains between the empires are the source of the new ore. Rath is rich in fertile lands where the Gyrung peoples live with tundra and mountains. The Capital at Rath is 2-3 days from being attacked by the Gyrung. The barrier peaks separate the empires by sea by the Gyrung are dismantling ships and carrying them 50 miles overland so they can attack from the water as well as the land. Aboriginal or native Orcs as mercenaries live in the mountain lands. Ogres, Painted-people (survivalists who left the armies), etc also inhabit the mountains.
