I ran through the forest this time in this dream. It was night, and the moonlight shined through the branches, cutting through the shadows like a knife. A girl ran beside me. She had chocolate brown skin and dark brown curly hair. The girl laughed and had a big smile on her face. Hanging over her shoulder was a sack full of stuff. Soon we slowed down to a walk, gasping for breath.
"That, was, awesome." She gasped. "Yeah, it was." I gasp back. The girl laughed, then looked behind me. Her eyes widened, and she stumbled back. "Lunar!" I looked at her, confused. "What?" Then I looked behind me. A giant spider was staring back at me, it's slimy fangs close to my face.
It lets out a screech that sounds like my Dad. Wait, it is my dad. "Lunar! Wake up! It's battle time!" I jerk up in my bed to hear my Dad banging on my door. "I'm up!" I shout back. "Let me get ready first, Dad." I take a quick shower, get dressed, and brush my teeth. I rushed out my bedroom door and down the stairs of our giant castle. Soon I'm out the door and with the soldiers ready to go to into battle.
I looked around at the soldiers. Half of them are obviously magical and the other half are normal. My Dad was standing in front of everyone. He searched the crowds for me, and when he saw me he ran up to me. "Honey get your armour on." He said, tapping my shoulder. Magical purple armour appeared over me. It gave off an eerie glow and you could see the magic particles around it.
I sighed, "Dad, why are we going to battle." My Dad narrowed his eyes at me. "The next few days we will be weakening the Main Kingdom's army, and then we will go to overthrow them. And you know what you have to do." I blinked, remembering the part I had to play. My job was to find a warrior training group, join it, and relay all the battle plans and secrets to my dad.
Honestly, I don't want to do that. I just put on my fake smile, pretending to act like how a princess should. My Dad tells me a princess should never show her feelings, only ever have a smile on her face.
If a princess frowns, cries, or laughs, she will be considered non royalty. "And you don't want to be that, right sweetie?" He will say to me after he tells me the rules. I've never met another princess before, because my Dad will only let me out of the castle if there's a battle. Dad turned around and shouted a command to go, and before I knew it, we were at the Main Kingdom, or the Kingdom of the Magicians.
Dad really wants his kingdom, or the Kingdom of Darkness, to be the overruling kingdom. He says he has really good plans for our continent, but I doubt he does. My dad seems like the commanding kind, the kind who would force terrible rules upon a place. "Everyone! You know the plans. When I say attack, follow my orders." Dad commanded. The soldiers looked forward, waiting for my Dad's command.
Dad narrowed his eyes, waiting for the perfect time. He smiled and shouted, "ATTACK!"
We ran down the hill we were on. People who were near the castle looked surprised as we ran towards the castle. A few of them started attacking, sending their best spells flying at us. I dodged spells, sending magical daggers at the attackers. The daggers hit most of their targets, causing a few of them to collapse. My smile went from fake to a true smile.
I could tell the guards were sending true fighters at us, cause some of them were running away. Spells, swords, and daggers flew through the air as I ran, looking for the perfect team. I scanned the giant crowd. And then I found someone I didn't expect. The girl from my dreams stood in front of me. She looked just like she did in my dreams. Her chocolate brown skin sparkled as the sun shined down at her, and her curly brown hair blew in the wind.
Around her were six other people. A red head girl yelled commands at everyone, and they followed. They were perfect. I sneaked up behind the girl I saw in my dreams, making sure she didn't hear or see me. But one of her friends did. The guy was small, and his blonde hair was spiked like a hedgehog's. "Robin! Look out!" Her name is Robin, I thought. She turned toward me, her eyes wide, but before she could attack, I grabbed her.
I shoved her against a tree and held her in place to were she wasn't able to go anywhere. Robin shoved all her weight into me, but I held her down. "I'm not flirting with you, but I'm pretty sure I had a dream about you." I casually said to her. She looked at me in surprise, then glared at me, "Me too, but I don't really care. I don't really trust Dark Magicians."
Robin shoved into me again, but I kept her against the tree. She growled in frustration, "What do you want?" "I'm glad you asked," I said, "Look, can I join your really awesome team." Robin looked at me in confusion, "Good try, Dark Magician. But I doubt my captain will let you onto the team." "Hmmm, maybe since I saw you in my dreams, we are destined to meet each other?" I ask.
This is going no were, I think. I'm wasting precious time. Robin sighed, "Look, you can try out later, not while we're in the middle of war." I nod, "Yeah I could tell this was going nowhere." I let her go and turn toward the battle that was happening. Magicians laid everywhere. They were either dead or injured. I shook my head. "Hey, you probably should stop fighting our magicians if you want to be on our team." Robin called to me.
I nod, sending a spell at one of my Dad's stupid fake soldiers. He looked at me in confusion, then he nodded, realizing what I was doing. Soon the battle was over, and my Dad's soldiers were leaving. I could tell that the Main Kingdom had won, and I wasn't surprised. I felt someone tap my shoulder, "Hey. My captain wants to see you." I turned to see Robin. She had cuts and bruises all over her, but she looked stable.
"Who is she anyways?" I ask her. Robin pointed at the red head girl who was studying me. She strangely wore a tuxedo even though they had just fought in a war. Over her right eye was an eyepatch, which made her look kinda threatening. "What happened to her eye?" I asked. Robin sighed, "I don't know, just go to her." All of a sudden, a bear ran up to her.
The bear said something to her, and the captain looked away from me. I quickly walked up to her. "I'm fine, love. We just need to talk to someone." I heard her say to the bear. Her voice was cool, calm. It sounded like what I imagine a british accent would sound. The bear saw me walking up to her, and it jumped. "Ah! Dark Magician! I thought they are all gone!" The captain put a hand on her shoulder, "It's okay, love. This is who we need to talk to."
She blinked at me, then looked towards her captain. "I should probably change into a human." The bear said. Then she turned into a human. She had curly brown hair, and she wore a tank top with black shorts. Her captain smiled at her, "Well then, I should probably introduce myself. I am Captain Autumn, and this is Vice Captain Bear." I smiled at them, "This may be surprising, but I am Princess Lunar of the Dark Magicians."
They looked at me, then looked at each other. "Well then," Autumn said, "Then you must have a very good reason to join us." She said that like a warning, almost like she knew that I was only trying to join them so I could get secrets. "I actually do," I said, "First of all, my Dad sucks. He tells me that princesses can only smile in public, and if they don't, they get thrown out of the castle. Plus I've always wanted to know what it was like to be a normal magician." That was the truth, and I could tell that they saw that. They looked at each other, it was like they had just had a silent conversation. Then they smiled at me. "Welcome to the team, princess Lunar."
