What if there were two worlds parallel to each other?
How different would they be? How similar?
Well, scientists have found evidence that an alternate universe could exist!
"Think of it like a mirror," said Kaito, a self-proclaimed experienced philosopher, "it only reflects back the image of yourself. But if you haven't ever actually seen your own face before in person, then how would you know if it's really you?"
Investigations and further research is currently ongoing in search of answers to this phenomenon.

A skinny blonde-haired male tossed his phone off to the side, shaking his head as he grabbed a shirt that had been set aside last night. He flapped it a couple of times first before pulling it over himself. Standing in front of the mirror, familiar bright blue eyes starred back at him, blinking exactly when he did, keeping consistent with the same pace. As he tied up a small bit of longer hair at the back of his head, a single word kept echoing in his head.
Bullshit.
There was no such thing as an alternate universe. Only the delusional could believe in such a thing. There was only one world— one universe. Whatever science there was to back-up the idea of an alternate universe, it would surely be far too complex for the capabilities of the human brain.
Kagamine Len would've liked to laugh at whoever this "scientist" could've been. He grabbed his messenger bag off from his desk which held all of his schoolwork and also slipped in his phone. Upon exiting his room, he almost bumped into his twin sister, Kagamine Rin. She didn't even flinch.
"Did you hear the breaking news?!" she exclaimed with her high, feminine voice.
Len shrugged, "Yeah but I could care less."
"It's so exciting!" Rin chanted, ignoring Len's enthusiasm. "What if I met my mirrored-self from the alternate universe? That'd be—!"
And Len never got to hear the end of her sentence. She had disappeared down the hall and out of the house likely due to adrenaline from the idea of discussing it with her friends at school.
Len rolled his eyes and swore to himself internally if he was the only person to not fall for such a phony article, he would end his life. As he passed the kitchen, he grabbed a banana muffin from the counter and then left the house, making sure to lock the door behind him.
Walking down the early morning peaceful sidewalk, he made his way out of the neighborhood and to the city where the school was located. He sure hoped this "breaking news" wasn't going to be the talk of crowd. Trying to push the idea out from his mind, he replaced it with the consideration to stop by the convenience store and grab an energy drink. There was a certain one he had grown addicted to recently. And yes, it was banana-flavored.
As Len reached the city, he crossed the street and entered into a Lawson, feeling the blast of AC rush to his face. He passed through a few shelves on his way to the back where the refrigerators were located. The store was quite empty despite it being morning. Only the cashier was standing at the registers, he was busy on the phone. Spotting the yellow-colored can, he opened the chilly door. With one hand holding the door open, he used the other one to reach in for the can.
His hand was supposed to touch the can— but it never did. Instead, a bright blue and purple swirl formed out of nowhere around his hand. Before Len could even let out a gasp, a pressure at his chest seemed to have magnetically forced him forward, sucking him in. It all happened in an instant. And it ended with a great, heavy bonk on his forehead.
"Ow!" Len let out in surprise though it didn't hurt too much. He brought a hand up to his forehead and rubbed it, hoping no bruise would form. But he stopped midway. Cold air emitting from the refrigerator brushed against his skin. There was a strange noise sounding from around him but he couldn't pinpoint exactly where it was coming from.
However, what caught his eye was the color of the convenience store. The frozen cans in front of him were coated in stars as if glitter had been tossed at them. The cans radiated awkwardly, in a luminescent sort of way. But aside from that, they were the same brand and flavors. The banana flavor was still in front of him, it was only. . . altered color-wise.
Len's eyes traveled across the floor, noticing that it too was also littered in star-shaped glitter. But the color had also changed— from a dirty white to a deep blue. Len shot his head around him, taking in the ominous scenery of the convenience store. All of it had changed. Everything from food to the walls, was sprinkled with glittering stars. And it looked as if the whole convenience store had been submerged in dark blue paint. Every item on the shelves and in the fridges had a glow to it.
Len felt his heart in his chest thump wildly. Had he hit his head that hard? What happened? What was this a diagnosable condition? What the hell just happened? He no longer had an interest in the energy drinks before him.
It was then he saw his reflection in the glass before him. While he was indeed still the same Kagamine Len, he suddenly had different clothes on. Instead of the casual tee and jeans, he instead wore a whole outfit in dark blue composed of an oversized shirt with a belt around his waist, the long formal pants, and black dress shoes. There was even a short cape around his shoulders buttoned at the collar and a newsboy cap settled on his head.
There was no way it was possible to also see yourself in different clothes. No way. He was insane. Oh, what a strange delusion.
Panicked, he tried to keep a cool composure as if nothing was wrong and made his way to the exit of the store, passing by the neon-colored breads and pastries. Hell, they didn't even look edible.
But he didn't get far until a pressure on his wrist halted him. Surprised, he turned back to see a younger boy, likely close to his age, with fluffy blonde hair and bandages around one eye. The boy looked at Len with narrowed, bright golden eyes.
"I saw that," his soft yet high-pitched voice said.
"What?" was the only thing Len could utter. Saw what?
"You're not from here."
Len's lips parted in disbelief. What the hell was this kid talking about? Was it that obvious that he had gone insane? He swatted is hand away from the other boy's grasp. "I don't know what you're talking about!" he protested.
The smaller male's voice remained composed and unfazed. "You fell through a wormhole," he said. "And if you want to return back, you have to follow me."
