I was a normal girl. you know, eat pizza, hang out at the mall with friends, yell at my little sister for using my makeup. But it all changed when I went to Mexico with my friends.

We walked down from the cruise ship, I've been at sea for 3 days and I was wobbling as soon as I stepped onto the dry land. "Hey look at this!" Valerie was balancing a blueberry on her nose. Oh I forgot to introduce myself, My name is Astrid Everhart and I am 16. "Hey Astrid, you listening?" Sam was waving his hand in my face. "Huh? What?" I was distracted. "Let's go to the beach" Valerie said. The beach wasn't crowded so we found a nice spot. The sun was blocked by the clouds, it was slightly chilly. "Val seriously? it's freezing" I shudder and pull my jacket around me. "Oh wimps I'm goin' surfing" Val puffs out her chest proudly, She was a champion surfer. "Astrid you have to come with mee" She grabbed my hand and tugged me toward to the surf boards we brought. "JESUS!" I almost fell off the surf board. It was really choppy out here. "Oh come on, Everhart toughen up!" she paddles next to me and punched me lightly on my shoulder. "WOOOOO" Val shouted as she rocked up and down on the board. I saw it before she did, the direns were wailing. "INCOMING GIANT WAVE!" Sam screamed. I didn't hesitate on me decision. I pushes Val forward and she flew away and onto the shore. The wave crashed down on me, I knew what was going to happen: I was going to drowned and die. I didn't mind though it was going to happen anyway but better me that Val. I couldn't breath. Then suddenly I could.

It was the most beautiful place I have ever seen, lush gardens, and in the middle a tree, a tree with one half colorful and the other half grey and black. Suddenly I was pulled away from the garden and up onto the shore. "Astris ASTRID WAKE UP" Sam was shouting in my face. I felt dead or close to dead at least. The last thing I remember before I blacked out was Sam putting me into the car.
