Kapil Aranya
The sky glimmered with stars---thousands of them ---which looked unnaturally big in the bluish black night sky. A light breeze blew---light though not gentle. This breeze soon transformed into a strong wind which brought about an uncanny feeling in Rishi Agastya's mind.
At this time in the evening, he usually meditated in his cave, but a strange restlessness had settled in his heart since he came to know about the great Royal Coverup that morning through the devas. He sat on a large rock buried in a small hill which overlooked the entire crystal city of Kapil Aranya.
It was the only city in the Mayan continent which was under the control of the Aryans which made them build it more beautifully than other cities of Bharatvarsha making it all the more enticing for Aryan tourists. It was a magnificently planned city with all its structures and housings made of colourful crystals----Rubies, emeralds, diamonds and lapis lazulis. At the heart of the city, the Lord Narayana temple was situated, who was the preserver of all creation. It had intricate rock and crystal carvings of all the 33 crore gods and goddesses.
The residents of Kapil Aranya led a Vedic way of life--always chanting the Lord's name even during their working hours, and invariably being in an elevated state of joy and bliss no matter what the circumstances were. The buildings shined brilliantly under the moonlight while the residents of Kapil Aranya enjoyed their evening; some with their children in the food shops and some meeting old friends and aquaintances. All was peaceful and merry.
Suddenly, the strong breeze changed into a storm. This alarmed all the Aryans and they began to look about desperately for a shelter. Children began to cry and run towards their parents while the said parents were busy in protecting their dear ones from coming under a falling pole or an uprooted tree. The city Salvagers soon helped everyone to get into a safe shelter from where they could all see the monstrous destruction. They saw the Godly crystals of the ancient buildings crack and the lapis lazulis fall off. Such was the storm that nearly all the ancient trees within their line of sight had got uprooted. Even the Brahmin scientists had not predicted such a hurricane. The Aryans soon realised that this was no ordinary storm----it was definitely trying to give some indication about the future.
Rishi Agastya sat amidst the storm undettered and unaffected by the chaos around him. He silently chanted mantras and prayed under his breath,"O Lord Narayan, only you have the power to save humanity from the impending doom. Please take your avatar or send your messengers to end this madness".
Suddenly a large vulture with huge brown wings and a strong black beak made its appearance in the black, chaotic sky ...it was so enormous that it seemed it would completely engulf the city.It made a large shrieking sound that collapsed the entire crystal temple of Lord Narayan into pieces. Everyone gasped.
This was a bad omen. The vulture flew out of sight but it left a huge fear in everyone's hearts. All the Aryans began chanting the name of the Lord loudly.
Their joint chanting had a collosal impact on the storm. It started to diminish very rapidly and after a few moments it was all so still that it seemed that it had not occured at all. But the debris it left behind spoke volumes about its occurence and impact.
Rishi Agastya opened his eyes and sighed. A loud noise of leaves shuffling diverted his attention to river Ramyavati flowing just beside the hill. The leaves began to make a strange pattern in the air even if all was still. It was odd and somewhat supernatural. He was unable to understand what the leaves were trying to show him. He prayed to the devas to help him. The Rishi gasped when he realised that the leaves had taken the form of .....a Phoenix. The structure disappered as soon as it appeared.
But the Rishi got the message. The Phoenix destroys itself when it gets old but takes birth again from its own ashes. The devas had sent him this message to relieve his troubled heart. He was happy..no..he was ecstatic. Because this message meant only one thing---the children of the devas were to take their avatars very soon.
But the monstrous vulture also gave a clear message which only the monk was able to decipher. It was not a message but rather a warning.....''Brace Yourself".
