words I read
I question the meaning
one knows not the truth behind words so easily written
the state of shallowness to which society has degenerated disheartens me.
words I hear
I question the feeling
so easy to converse with written language, yet so hard to maintain a social interaction
emotions are dubious due to a fear of being criticized.
words
they used to be a thing of manners
of politics
of genuine emotion
they used to show comfort and friendship
how harsh has society become?
cold and devoid of any inflection
we overuse the advantage of instant communication
words said aloud and thought out, sometimes the simplest of phrases
mean so much more than quickly conceived black and white print
posted for the world to see, words have instant power
they make or break one's opinion of themselves
yet why?
this query many have pondered
such shallow words are meaningless
if not spoken in person, what value should they hold?
