If there was one thing Tom worried about most when getting a girlfriend, it would be meeting his precious little puppy.
Tessa was his world, and when he found you, he'd hoped that she liked you. And yeah, she was a dog, but she meant a lot to him.
Eleven months into the relationship and Tessa was more than fond of you. She saw you and Tom as her best of friends.
"So we understand that you and Y/N went public with your relationship a month ago, how is everything going?" The interviewer asked Tom.
"Yeah well, it's going amazing. We've been together nearly a year, and I'm surprised Y/N's been able to keep up with me that long." Tom laughed.
You were currently at home, chilling in bed, with Tessa cuddled up next to you.
"How did Tessa react to a lady in the house?" Tom got asked.
"She's always been a people person, and I think I fell more in love with Y/N when Tessa warmed up to her. They're both at home at the moment." Tom couldn't deny the prominent grin on his face. Suddenly, his phone started ringing - it was you, on FaceTime.
"Is it Y/N?" The interviewer asked.
"Yeah do you mind if I answer?" Tom panicked, not wanting to miss your call.
"Of course!" The interviewer smiled.
"Hey babe, everything okay?" Tom called through the phone. Today was one of your days off.
"Everything's good how's the interview?" You asked with a slight yawn.
"Just in the middle of it." Tom chuckled, showing you the room.
"Oh I'm sorry, you want me to go?" You asked, worried you had ruined it for him.
"If you don't mind, can I ask you a question Y/N? I'm a huge fan." The interviewer asked.
"Go for it." You smiled.
"Beforehand you never had any pets, so how do you feel now that Tom has brought Tessa into your life?" You chuckled at that question.
"Speak of the devil she's right here." You pointed the camera at her, she was against your side, snoozing away. You petted her and began answering the question.
"I love dogs, but she is hands down my favourite little puppy in the world. I mean, who wouldn't love her? She's so cute." You smiled. Toms heart warmed and he couldn't help but thank god that you were in his life.
"Thank-you so much Y/N." The interviewer waved at you.
"I'll be back in a couple of hours, we can go for something to eat." Tom blew a kiss.
"Love you!" You called out to him.
"Love you too." He chuckled, ending the phone call. Needless to say, when he got home, you and Tessa were fast asleep again.
