Being pregnant felt like a life-time of waiting. The first trimester was awful, the consistent throwing up and headaches were painful. The second trimester, was so much better. You felt more at ease with your pregnancy. The third trimester was just as uncomfortable as the first. The cravings and aches were so bad.
Now, you were two days past your due date.
"Must your baby take forever to come?" Thor asked, leaning back in his chair.
"Trust me, I want this baby out more than any of you." You groaned.
You had moved into the tower, just days after telling Tony you were pregnant. Pepper had been a huge help as well, always offering to take you to pregnancy classes, and your appointments.
Then there was your boyfriend, Peter. There wasn't one day he'd miss without being there for you. He was practically glued to you.
"Have you packed your hospital bag?" Pepper asked, walking through.
"I've packed everything." You told her.
"Where's Peter?" She asked again.
"Your guess is as good as mine. I haven't seen him all day." You sighed. Considering you were so close to birth, Peter was walking on a tight-rope. He knew, if he missed his own child being born, he would hate himself, but nobody had seen him.
"It's getting late sweet-heart, you should go to bed." Tony spoke from behind his wife. Truth be told, Tony had been like a father figure to you over the past nine months, and there was nothing you appreciated more.
"I guess, night guys." You frowned. They all gave you sympathetic looks as you headed to your shared room with Peter. Before you got there, you stopped and looked at the nursery.
"This is your room baby." You spoke, rubbing your belly as you took everything in. You felt a gaze on you and turned around, it was Peter.
"Where were you today?" You asked him, the frown still prominent on your face.
"I was hanging with Ned and MJ." He did not look happy what so ever.
"You didn't think to call or text me back?" You quirked an eyebrow at him.
"Y/N, not this again." He sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose.
"Yes this again. I need you now more then I've ever needed you. What if I went into labor and you weren't there?" You asked him, feeling the tears burn in your eyes.
"You don't need me here every single day Y/N, I wanna go hang out with my friends." He snapped.
"You don't think I want to either? I would love to go out and have fun, but instead, I'm looking after myself and my unborn kid because that's what I prioritize." You threw your hands up in the air out of frustration.
"Don't you dare act like I don't prioritize you. What's got you like this huh? If you were so fussed over being pregnant, then you should've got rid of the baby when you had the chance." And that's what hit you the hardest. Peter immediately felt guilty. He really didn't mean it, it was in the heat of the moment.
Your braxton hicks were really bad today so that put you in a worse mood. He had never once brought up getting rid of the baby since you had agreed to keep it.
"Y/N, I-i didn't mean that." He stuttered trying to come closer to you.
"Get away from me." You snapped. The pain took over, and you had to grip hold of the crib.
"I'm sorry, I shouldn't have said it." He was crying now, he really hadn't meant to say something so cruel. When you didn't reply, he knew something had to be wrong.
