I stared out the window. When was she going to come? I thought, sighing. Natalie couldn't be ditching her for sure. Sitting at the cold but comfortable couch at the restaurant, her pulled her phone out of her pocket. Staring at me were those text messages. Those messages I thought I'd never see from her.

Natalie: ummm Jen?
Natalie: I'm sry I didn't tell u this b4...
Natalie: but...
Natalie: I've got a secret that I didn't tell u abt
Natalie: n now it's tearing the world apart
Natalie: meet u in abt 15 mins

I stared at them. She had sent them 20 minutes ago, but was nowhere to be found.

Half an hour passed and Natalie finally showed up, drenched in sweat. "Sorry for the delay Jen. I was caught for a moment." I pushed her food towards her and said, "Eat. Explain later. You must be starving. I've eaten already while waiting for you." She ate her food in awkward silence, but she looked weird hastily munching on her food. Usually she would be lady-like while eating, and I wondered if this really was my best friend, the one I thought I knew.
