"I love you okay, I can't lose you...I just can't" 🍀🙊

Ever since Sonny joined the band Jack and Brooklyn have drifted apart - Jacklyn has disappeared to put it simply and it is devastating. Jack has always had a soft spot for Brooklyn and his weird sides but lately he hasn't been spending much time with Brooklyn because of Sonny. Brooklyn didn't realise they were becoming distant, he was just trying to make Sonny feel welcome but instead he has left Jack out which is breaking their bond.

To put it lightly, they both miss how things used to be but don't want to make Sonny feel like a third wheel.

Brooklyn's POV:

Today we were going to film the cover for 'Easier' by 5 Seconds Of Summer so we all woke up fairly early to find a location to film the cover. When I woke up, I made my way down the stairs to see Jack sat on the sofa watching TV drinking a coffee. None of the other boys were up only him which is unusual as he is usually the last to wake up. "Hey, why are you up so early Jacky boy?" He turned around and glared at me and then went back to watching the TV...strange, what have I done wrong. "Jack?? What have I done wrong?" He shook his head and stood up "Just forget it okay." A confused expression crossed my face, what is going on? 

Once all the boys were up and changed, we packed the car with all the camera equipment before getting in the car and setting off. I tried to sit next to Jack but he put his bag on the seat leaving me to find another seat, so I sat next to Sonny. I spent the whole drive chatting to Sonny and laughing, I kept glancing at Jack and he looked so miserable. I wish I knew what was wrong with him. 

Jack's POV:

I'd been rude to Brooklyn all morning, so no wonder he was laughing with Sonny. But for some reason seeing him with Sonny made me mad, it hurt, I guess it was like he was replacing me and that stung. It has always been 'Jacklyn' and now that is no longer which really sucks. 

We found an old abandoned building which was covered in graffiti which we decided was a perfect place for filming the cover so we got out of the car and began retrieving all the camera equipment from the boot of the car. As I got out the car Rye came over and said "Things seem tense between you and Brook, what's going on man?" I looked down to the ground and said "I don't know, it hurts..." Rye looked at me and titled his head, "Hurts? What hurts?" I sighed "I'm losing him aren't I? to Sonny" Rye pulled me into a hug and said "Man, you aren't losing him, Brook never stops chatting about you. It's all about you, to be honest it's annoying how much he talks about you." I laughed "Jack, tell him if it hurts so much. He doesn't want to lose you. He just wants to include Sonny." I nodded and went over to them all and got ready to start recording.

All through the recording I couldn't stop thinking about what Rye said 'Tell him if it hurts so much'. Could it actually be that simple? Or will telling him make things worse?

I think my only option is to tell him...

Brooklyn's POV:

We finished recording the cover pretty quickly so drove to a little café to get some lunch. When we got to the café Jack patted the seat next to me and said "Want to sit with me?" with a faint smile. I gave him a massive smile back before saying "Yes of course, I wanted to sit with you on the drive to the location". Jack sighed, "Yeah I'm sorry. I'm just moody". I laughed at that remark.

Once we finished eating Sonny was talking to me about how nervous he was to join the band when in the corner of my eye I saw Jack progressively getting angry, but why? I don't know. I tried not to think too much of it so I continued talking to Sonny.

"URGH" 

We all turned and looked at Jack who had jumped up and shouted..."Jack, you okay?" I said and saw Rye slowly getting out of his seat.

"I don't wanna do this." He said swallowing his fears and holding back his tears.

"Do what?" Both me and Rye said.

"I can't" he said walking back and now everyone in the café was staring at him. I felt so bad for him but didn't really understand what was happening.

"You can" I heard Rye whisper to him.

"Urgh...urm..." he kept looking around before placing his gaze on me. "I-I-I l-l-ove you." He sighed. "I love you okay.." I looked at him and said "What?" 

"Brook, I love you. But I am losing you..."

"You aren't losing me, you won't ever lose me. But are you okay? Are you sure what you are saying?"

He laughed to himself. "For god sake!" He said slightly raising his voice. "I love you okay, I can't lose you...I just can't" he looked down at the ground "It feels like you are drifting from me and I hate it, I hate this so much."

I stood up and grabbed his hands "Jack, you are not losing me. Who do you think you are losing me to?" 

"Sonny..." He said and Sonny looked up and said "I am so sorry man"

"Jack, I am trying to make Sonny feel welcome. You won't lose me, you are the one I-I love." I looked in his eyes and said "I love you Jack"

Rye moved back and shouted "YAYYYY!! DOES THIS MEAN JACKLYN IS OFFICIAL?"

I cupped Jack's face and nodded. All the boys scteamed and freaked out which made me and Jack giggled. I get it now, I understand why he was upset. I guess I was isolating him when I should have been making everyone feel included. I love him, so why was I so stupid? Well at least it has worked out now even if he made a scene.
