Chapter 1
"Carrie. Carrie. Wake up." Mike repeated as he waited for his beautiful wife to awaken from her long sleep. Carrie slowly opened her eyes, not knowing what had happened.
"Where am I?" Carrie asked.
"The hospital! She's here, Carrie. And so is he." Mike answered.
The nurses rolled in two baby beds with one pink blanket and one blue blanket. Vanessa Kaylie and Jackson Troy were swaddled in each of the beds. Carrie looked in the beds, and instantly started crying. She hadn't known she would be having two. But once she saw how perfect they were, she couldn't think about anything.
"Nessie looks like you, Carrie. Blonde hair, beautiful nose... Perfect."
Carrie held Vanessa up to her chest but was concerned when the baby stopped moving. She looked at her and realized that she was gasping for air. Carrie yelled for help right away. Her baby girl was taken away, and had to be flown to a hospital hours away. Carrie was devastated. And Mike didn't know what to think.
Chapter 2
The doctor came in to inform Carrie and Mike about what had happened. Vanessa had had a lung failure. She couldn't breathe because of this. They had to get her sent to a hospital with more advanced systems so that there could be a chance of her living.
"So..what will happen to my baby?" Carrie asked, heartbroken.
"Vanessa May or May not survive, for she is very young. We will try our best to make sure that she will be back in your arms as soon as possible." The Doctor replied, trying to comfort Carrie.
Carrie and Mike couldn't hold back their tears. They held their perfect baby boy, Jackson, and wouldn't let anything happen to him. The next day, Mike caught a plane to the hospital where Vanessa was, since Carrie couldn't leave, but she also didn't want her to be alone.
Later that night, Carrie got a call from Mike. She never thought she would hear this news, but....
Chapter 3
Vanessa was fine. She had gotten through the short operation. She was going to be flown back in a few days.
Jackson was so sweet, and Carrie couldn't believe she had a perfect baby boy. She knew about Vanessa, but Jackson? He was a gift from God. A beautiful gift!
The family had several visitors once Vanessa got there, all agreeing that it was the perfect family.
Chapter 4
"Why me? What have I done?" Was all that Carrie could think as they arrived at the funeral. Carrie was so upset. The men carried the coffin into the building. It was such a small coffin. Carrie had not stopped crying for a long long time. Her baby girl was gone. The doctors had told Carrie late one night that Vanessa Fisher had died of a heart failure. They thought she was fine after she got back but she wasn't. She had many things wrong that the doctors didn't catch.
She couldn't stop shaking and crying. Carrie held Jackson up close. She wouldn't let anybody hold him and she barely put him down. Nothing was going to happen to her baby boy. Not at all.

Chapter 5
Jackson was now 4 months old, and was getting so big. Carrie and Mike loved him so much. He was their baby and always would be! Jackson had rolled over a few days before, but they couldn't quite get him to do it again. They knew he eventually would though.
Carrie and Mike still got upset at night, thinking about their baby girl, who had passed. They wanted more children. They couldn't keep thinking about her! They just wanted two children, one boy and one girl, and their family would have been complete. But God took away their perfect little girl. And they would never get her back. All they could do was try to have another child.

Chapter 6
* 9 months later *
"Push Carrie Push!" Said Mike, squeezing his wife's hand. "You can do this. Come on, baby! You can do this!"

Carrie pushed as much as she could. She could finally stop, once she heard a small scream coming from across the room.
The nurses wrapped the baby in a blue and purple blanket and handed the small child to Carrie.

"Awwh, Mike," said Carrie, crying.

"Perfect. Just like you," said Mike, kissing his wife.

"MAMA!!" Squealed Jackson when he saw Carrie, as Carol carried him into the hospital room.

"Hi baby boy!!" Said Carrie, "come here and meet the baby!"

"So when will you tell us if it's a boy or a girl?!" Asked Carol, trying to hold Jackson so that he could see the baby.

"It's a girl..,"Carrie whispered to her mother, now knowing what it was like to hold the most beautiful newborn on Earth. "Her name is Jaylie Michelle."

Chapter 7
As Carrie and Mike got home with their two children, they sat on the couch in their living room and relaxed. Jackson ran around and played toys, showing some of them to Jaylie. He was so amazed by how small she was and he would not stop trying to carry a conversation with her.

After a few moments that seemed to fly by too fast for Carrie and Mike, Jaylie started crying and wanted to be held. Carrie picked her up and rocked her to sleep.

Mike went in the kitchen and fixed up a salad for the family to eat, and then brought Carrie a surprise. He had bought her what she had wanted forever; a blue crystal necklace that seemed perfect on her and made her eyes twinkle in the light. She had wanted the necklace for years but could never find it.

She was speechless and Mike could not hold back his smile.
