The Aswang
When I was in Cavite, I met a woman named Sopia. She owned several dogs in her house and would sometimes nit pick them. I saw her shaking a lot afterwards. I surmise that she ate dog fleas. Then I saw her maid Cheryl, who is in charge of cleaning up dog waste and her husband Lawrence. Later I heard something noisy when I was inside. I opened the door seeing Sopia, Cheryl and Lawrence crying over their dog. Sopia caught the assailant then she punched him in the face.
I was horrified to see Sopia's bloodied hand. But I kind of noticed something strange when I went inside. The dogs were always outside but there were paw prints on the floor. I tried to wash them with detergents and bleach but they wouldn't vanish. Then I kept on seeing more of them when I went to the library and saw Sopia becoming more doglike. She barked and nearly bit me so I ran away from her.
I went outside to see Cheryl and Lawrence crying together as they were burying the poor dog. The dogs followed them soon after. I heard them howling and when I got near the grave, one of the dogs barked and began chasing me. So I went inside and closed the door to see what Lawrence and Cheryl have been up to. It turned out that they were trying to stop Sopia who wasn't just howling but was going to bite them. I saw her licking Lawrence's blood after biting him. I stopped her by throwing a bucket of water while Cheryl was going outside. She opened the door and Sopia ran. She goes to her dog's grave and fiercely guards it. She snarled when we got near her. We both kicked and shooed her away then we went back.
But because Lawrence's injured we had to open the gate for him. We took him to the hospital to make him well. Cheryl stayed by his side while I went out to find Sopia. I was busy finding her paw prints on the streets, figuring out which is hers and which belongs to one of her dogs. Then I kept on seeing blood on the sidewalks as I ran quickly. I have to find which dog left these on the sidewalks. Though I saw her dogs hunting a cat when I ran in the park, I heard a bark from nowhere. I had to keep on looking after the red paw prints to figure out who did it.
I was on my way to finding out which dog did it until I saw Cheryl coming at me. She was asking "where have you been?" I said to her that I was following those paw prints because I tried to find that dog. I returned to the hospital to see Lawrence he's been given blood by one of the nurses. I asked her "did you see any paw prints on the floor?" She said that she only started seeing them a while ago.
But I asked her if she knew Sopia. She said that Sopia used to work in this hospital too. I wondered whether or not those paw prints were left by Sopia. I remember her turning into a dog when I saw her in the library. So I looked around in the hospital, finding clues to where she might have been up to.
Suddenly I heard barks from another room so I went to see what's happening. I saw Sopia biting the same man who shot her dog. She licked blood from his limbs then gripping them to restrain him. I had to stop her from attacking him but he backed off. I saw him cowering in the corner when Sopia was going to approach him but she bit me instead. Since I was bleeding I had to go and rip a piece from a nearby curtain then using it as a bandage to stop the bleeding. Sopia went around sniffing, looking for others to attack.
Her dogs came and together they found victims. I had no other choice but to call the police when Sopia and her dogs were attacking pregnant women. Then they came and saw the dogs barking at them. She bites one officer's arm and her dog bit another officer's face. He was bleeding so badly I had to bandage him using scrapped cloth. I used up all the bandages to save everyone but I was shocked seeing someone crying over her child so I went out.
I found refuge by going to a church. Then I heard more barking and when I turned back, I saw Sopia and her dogs again. They kept on barking while chasing me. The other churchgoers were frightened of her pack so they escaped. Only two of us stayed. The priest warded her off using holy water, garlic and a crucifix. I had to scare her by reciting the Lord's Prayer. When she heard it she shook a lot and left with her dogs. I'll never see them again.
