How It All Began

3rd Person POV

[News had spread around like wildfire. A boy named Yuya Sakaki, whose father had disappeared many years ago, was facing off against the current reigning champion. Almost everyone was invited to see this amazing event. Yuya was ready to duel against the current reigning champion. Every inspiring duelist was there as well. A certain little boy was in the crowd watching in awe. He wanted to be the best duelist in the world. The only problem was, he has no deck or a duel disk. How could he become the next King of Games if he had no deck? Yuya invented a brand new summoning technique called Pendulum Summoning. This inspired the boy more but it also discouraged him more. It was another thing that he didn't have. A certain skill that no one else had. After the duel he went home and went to bed]

Boy: How I wish I could be a duelist! I want to find a way to put Pendulum Summoning in its place. I'll never be able to do that. Without a deck or a duel disk, I'll get nowhere. I guess you can dream.

[The boy went asleep in his home. It was basically a cardboard box. He was orphaned years ago and he can't remember what happened. So he goes around begging and seeing every dueling event he can. He falls into a deep sleep. It is pitch black. A person could get lost in the void]

Boy: Hello? Anyone here?

[Suddenly a giant white dragon with white and blue wings flew over him. This frightened him. He ran as fast as he could but stopped when a giant purple dragon flew towards him. He ran again. He ran hard but had to stop again when a giant white dragon flew his way. His legs grew tired as he ran again. He eventually fell. He couldn't run anymore. A giant black dragon appeared alongside the other three dragons from earlier. He fell into despair. This was a nightmare. But he can change it. This is dream after all. He then stood up and faced off against the four dragons. Blue Armor appeared on him and he carried a sword at his side]

Boy: You don't scare me!

[The boy than fought the dragons. He felt powerful. He felt in control. He defeated the dragons as they submitted]

Boy: You all serve me now!

[A bright shined. It was a giant circuit with link markers. The four dragons vanished and turned into cards. The boy was confused on what this all meant. Before he knew it, he awoke when the sound of a large truck honked its horn. The boy woke up feeling energized after the amazing dream. He then looked to the side and saw a device that he didn't recognize. He picked it up. It spoke]

Voice: Hello, duelist.

Boy: Are you a duel disk?

Voice: Yes.

Boy: Where did you come from? Who do you belong to?

Voice: You of course.

Boy: No. Sorry. I'm not a duelist. I don't even have a deck.

Voice: No worries. I have your deck inside me.

Boy: I'm sorry but I think you're looking for someone else.

Voice: This is you. Is it not?

[The duel disk flashed a name on a screen and sure enough it was his. The boy was confused. Where did this duel disk come from? He was skeptical but deep down he was excited. He finally had a duel disk. This was a step to becoming a duelist. He could try to enter LDS and become the next King of Games. But then it hit him, what deck did he have?]

Boy: May I see my deck please?

Voice: Of course.

[The boy saw his deck. It was filled with a new type of monster called Cyberse]

Boy: What is Cyberse?

[He kept going until he saw a new type of monster]

Boy: What is a Link Monster?

Voice: Do you wish for me to explain?

Boy: Not yet.

Voice: Very well.

[The boy looked at the new monster closely. It looked like a knight with blue armor. He then saw a few more knights in different colors. He kept going until he saw them: the four dragons that he saw and defeated in his dream. This must have been a sign]

Boy: Computer, please tell me what all these cards are and what they can do.

Voice: Very well. Let us begin.
