Jeffrey couldn't help but smile as he walked June to her apartment door. Tonight was a success. He had taken her to a cafe outside of town and then walk through park. They stopped at their door and June turned towards him with a big smile. June held her keys in her hand as she said," Do you wanna come inside for a nightcap?" Jeffrey chuckled and nodded as she unlocked the door. Jeffrey stood in the living room looking over pictures of June and her son. June came to his side holding two glasses of wine. She handed him a glass and said,"I'm sorry to disappoint but it's the cheap box stuff." Jeffrey waved her off as he took a slight sip. June took a sip herself and sat on the couch patting the seat next to her. Jeffrey sat down beside her and wrapped an around her shoulders. She snuggled into his side as he said," You've met my son at the diner but I know nothing about yours.Tell me about your son." June smiled before she took a quick sip before putting the glass down on the coffee table. She grabbed a nearby picture and said," Well Wade's fourteen about to be fifteen. He's crazy kid. He was born without collar bones so he can some cool tricks. He's my world. He also loves your show, he's not allowed to watch it but he doesn't know that I know." Jeffrey took a look at Wade's picture and smiled. He could see that he had some of June's features but the rest were probably from his father. June picked up her wine glass and took a sip as she laid the picture back in its place. Jeffrey took her glass and his and put them on the table. June gave him an odd look as he said," June I've known you for a while now and you have know idea how long I've wanted to do this." Jeffrey gently caressed her face with his callused hands and brought her in for slow, passionate kiss. June couldn't help but moan into the kiss, only fueling Jeffrey. His hands fingered into her hair as she wrapped her arms around his neck. He pulled away only to start kissing down her neck. June's left hand moved down his chest as a loud knock came from the front door. They both suddenly pulled away and looked towards the door. Jeffrey looked at her and said," You're not expecting someone are ya'?" June just shook her head no as she stood and straightened out her hair. June opened the door to find Wade with watery eyes and Greg standing behind him. She felt Wade wrap his arms around her as she looked back to Greg to find him with red cheeks and blood shot eyes. Greg sniffed and said," Mom just called. Dad was on his way to the camp and got in an accident. It's not looking too good so I got to go. I tried calling your cell but it kept going to voice mail." June teared up at as she thought about her ex father in law. She cleared her throat and said,"Okay. Call me if you need me. I don't have a cell anymore you'll have to call the house but I have the weekend off. Tell Wade Senior and Mary Ann I'm praying for them." Greg gave her an odd look as he looked inside to find an awkward Jeffrey sitting with his hands in his lap. Greg looked to Wade and said," Wade, buddy, do you mind going to your room?" Wade just nodded as he walked past Jeffrey to his bedroom. Greg crossed his arms and said," Why don't you have a phone anymore? That's why I wanted you to stay on my plan so you and eventually Wade could have a phone." June looked back at Jeffrey and gave him a slight smile before stepping out and shutting the front door. She crossed her arms and said," You're father is in the hospital dying and your worried about my cell phone. If you're so worried about it I had one of those cheap flip phones anyway someone hit me at work and messed up one of tail lights. It was either the tail light or three month payments. I chose the tail light." Greg just nodded as he looked down at his feet. He frowned and said," Alright. I'll take care of the phone issue when I get back but tell Wade I'm sorry I know he was excited. I'll call if anything happens." June just nodded as she watched him leave. June stepped inside only to find Jeffrey missing. She frowned as she headed towards Wade's room only to hear soft murmuring and sobs. She slowly walked in to find Wade in Jeffrey's arms sobbing as Jeffrey lightly sushed him. Kelsey couldn't help but smile at the sight. Jeffrey looked up and waved her over. June came over and came up behind Wade and began rubbing his back. Wade pulled away from Jeffrey and pulled himself against June. He looked up at her and said,"Mom, Can I go to bed?" June just nodded and kissed his forehead. Jeffrey pointed towards the hallway and quickly left the room. June pulled away from Wade and let him hop in bed. She pulled up his bed spread and said," I can't promise you everything will be okay with Grandpa Wade but your Grandpa loves you no matter what. Now get you a good night sleep and holler if you need me." She kissed his forehead again and left the room, shutting the door behind her. She found Jeffrey in the hallway with a smile on his face. She smiled and wrapped her arms around his middle, pulling him in for a hug. Jeffrey couldn't help but chuckle and wrapped his arms around her. He frowned lightly and said," I didn't know what to do. I heard him sobbing and I guess my dad instincts kicked in. If I crossed the line, I'm sorry." June pulled away and put her hands on his bearded cheeks. She stood on her top toes and boldly placed a quick peck on his lips and said," Don't be sorry. You have no idea how much I appreciate what you did. Greg is not the consoling type so what you did meant the world to both him and me. Plus I think those daddy instincts are sexy." Jeffrey couldn't help let out a loud laugh as he led them to the living room. He kissed her lips one more time and said," I better be getting home to Gus before he drives Norman crazy. But are you free Sunday?" She quickly nodded as he said," Good. I'll be getting off from filming. How does take out and a movie at my place sound?" June smiled and nodded as she placed her hands on his chest. She smiled and said," Sounds perfect. I'll bring dessert. I make a mean peach cobbler." Jeffrey moaned lightly as he thought of the sugary treat. June giggled lightly before he placed a quick kiss to her lips before he left. She couldn't help giggle as Wade stepped out of his room. Wade sniffed and said," Can we hang out and watch a movie?" June turned towards him with a small smile before she walked over to the couch and patted the seat next to her. Wade picked a throw blanket as he sat beside her and snuggled into her side. She wrapped an arm around his shoulder and kissed his head. Before long they were both fast asleep.
