Today was the day, the final day of senior schooling and onto another 3 years of education as well as another year and a whole lot more funding if one wanted to complete a PhD. We youths were subjected to education for half our lives and then a 9 to 5 job for the rest of our mortal lives until we were old and grey. I tried not to think about this as I sat with all the other graduates of St Bernadette college for girls and boys, beside the boys and girls I had practically grown up with, who had radiant smiles on their faces half happy about the year ending and half remorseful that they would never come back. As names were being called from A to Z, my thoughts tried to summarize the past 7 years in my head which I could not no matter how hard I tried before my name was called in a deep and booming voice, "Simon Snow-"I shakily stood up, encouraged by the cheers of the crowd and my fellow alumnus as I made my way to the stage to collect my graduation certificate. As I reached oak wooden stage and the stairs, that had been worn by the feet of each passing generation and slowly climbed up them, my eyes observed the crowds of proud parents and college scouts who would be looking to offer scholarships to those who excelled in sport or mathematics. I could feel myself blush under the smiles as I looked up and accepted my certificate. But the only eyes I could see where the brightest blue in all of the universe, I don't know much about nebulas and novas and galaxies, I'm more of a History and English Literature kind of guy, but I automatically knew that none of them were more magnificent then the pair of irises that belonged to Chris Law, my well, the love of my life. Yes, I am sorry to say that the story you all came to see has been spoiled, or is it? Think of this as a Shakespearean prologue, the best is yet to come as I tell you how exactly we got here.
