the crowd was full of people, tonight was the emmys. finn wolfhard and the stranger things cast stepped out of their limo and made their way onto the red carpet. millie's. arm was wrapped tightly around finn's, but they didn't like each other like that, and he planned to tell everyone.
"finn wolfhard! turn to this camera!" he shook his head and continued walking.
"are you and millie dating?" he ignored all the questions, and made his way to melly clarkson, who was apparently interviewing.
"it's the stranger things cast! why hello!" finn showed a weak smile to the camera.
"i have a few questions for you if that's okay. they nodded.
"so who are you excited to see tonight?"
"um, i'd really like to see ash. she's really pretty and funny." finn said.
"oooooo" the cast said and nudged him, he blushed.
"you guys are nominated for 8 emmys this year, how do you feel?" millie politely grabbed the mic and said, "it's grea-
finn zoned out. he saw a familiar figure, walking in a beautiful dress, putting on her cute smile. it was like everything turned into slo-mo for him and all he could do was stare.
"finn?"
"finn!"
"what- ash?" he said and everyone asked.
"yes, ash is here, but that wasn't my question!" kelly said and laughed. a security guard in all black walked behind them and whispered something in kelly's ear.
"oh! looks like it's time to go inside." kelly said and they went to find their seats. caleb sat next to finn and said, "y'know buddy, i think ash is announcing the best supporting role category, and if you win you get to hug her."
he patted finn's shoulder. his eyes gazed on the dreamy girl that was at the table beside them.
"yeah, that would be great." he said.
ash caught his stare and gave him a small, sweet smile and a tiny wave. finn was surprised and gave a funny looking wave in return, with his glass of water in his hand. he soon realized his mistake, and looked at the glass, then back at her. she laughed and he joined her. the lights dimmed, and the show was about to start. micheal che made his way on to the stage.
the next hour
"please introduce ash and jack dylan grazer to the stage." the robotic woman voice said. finn snapped out of his trance and waved frantically at his friend. he returned the crazy wave back, and the audience laughed.
"here are the nominees for best supporting actor." ash said. the screens played and announced each actor one by one. asher angel, timothee chalamet, finn wolfhard, and jeremy ray taylor. finn felt like his applause was the loudest out of all and smiled.
"and the winner is," jack said and ash opened the envelope. she looked at finn before returning her attention to the camera.
"finn wolfhard!" his eyes opened wide and ran up to the fancy stage, he high-fived jack and hugged ash really tightly. she giggled and her face was in his chest.
"uh, finn. you have to let go of me now." her muffled voice said.
"oh right." he turned tomato red and looked at the camera.
"i want to thank the cast for working along with me, and making this experience really fun. i also want to thank my family for always supporting me, through my career and i can't wait to see what happens next!" he kissed the award like it was ash, and walked off the the stage. one arm holding his emmy, and one arm around ash.
he whispered to jack, "hey, i wrote my number on this piece of paper, can you stick it in the envelope before she takes it home?" he asked. jack nodded and patted his shoulder.
after the show
"ash! ash!"
"are you and finn dating?!"
"do you know him?!"
"how are you feeling about taking home 6 emmys tonight? you are the youngest to do that and you've set a record!"
she gave a smile and waved to the paperazzi before she went into her limo. she nodded at the driver and he started the car. ash looked outside the window and played with the envelope. a small slip of paper fell out of it and she picked it up.

"hello? is this finn?"
