Chapter 15

What is your opinion about the deaf♡

***Martin P.O.V***

We came into the office and Emma picked up my jacket. I wrapped it around her shoulders when she offered it to me.

“You should wear it. It’s cold outside,” I say with a smile.

Emma looked up into my eyes, but then suddenly collapsed into my arms.

“E-Emma?” I say surprised. I brush her hair out of her face and lean in close to her…

*knock* *knock* *knock*

Someone was at the door.

“Mr. Martin are you there? It’s you assistant, Kate,” said Katherine’s voice through the door.

“Kate, I’m a bit busy at the moment,” I respond slightly frustrated.

“Alright Mr. Martin. Have a nice night, I’ll be going now,” she responded.

“Okay,” I say back, then look back to Emma, “Emma, please wake up!” I plead with her.

“W-what?” Emma says slowly while opening her eyes, “Martin? What’s up? Can we go home now?”

“Uh… sure,” I respond while opening the door.

“Emma?” I begin, hoping that she’ll have an answer to why she passed out.

“What do you want?” she asked looking at me.

“Um… thanks for wearing the suit,” I say with a smile. Then we both go out to the car and drive home.

We arrived, but I’m still confused about what happened.

When arrived home, and right as we opened the door we saw Maya standing there.

Martin walks in and his stomach growls, “Hey Maya. I hope you have a huge dinner planned ‘cause I’m hungry from working all day. He said as he walks into the kitchen. Maya and I both follow after him.

“Yep, now that’s a dinner!” Martin exclaims while sitting down at the table. Maya and I both laugh at his outburst and sit down to eat. About ten minutes later, my phone buzzed. I glanced down at the phone, then back up at Martin.

“Don’t open it Emma,” he begins, “be stronger than that, don’t fall for those stupid pranks. These people are just sick jokers trying to get under your skin. You’re stronger than this.” It looked like Martin wanted to continue but the door rang.

I stood quickly, and moved to the door. I peeked through the peephole but didn’t see anyone!

“Who’s there?” Martin asked from behind me.

“Nobody I thi-“ I was cut off as the door rang again. ‘What’s going on?! I’m so confused!’

“I’ll get the door Emma,” Martin says as he walks up to it. He opened the door.

“Nobody’s there Emma, come and look,” Martin said while opening the door wider. I walk over and see that he’s right! Nobody is there.

Martin sighs, “Look Emma, don’t let this stupid thing get to you.” Martin looked at me waiting for a response. I know he doesn’t want me to be scared, but I’m just so scared and confused!
