Chapter 3

flashback

'Don't trust people so easily', he tells me and kisses me on the neck. This feeling is the best.

'There still people outside that they deserve our trust', I let him know.

'Such as?', he asks like he knows the answer.

'You', I tell him and close the book on the desk and go to the bed where he is lying waiting for me.

'I love you', he shouts.

'Shhh, we are not even alone in this flat', I shut his mouth with a big kiss.

*end of flashback*

'Sebastian?', I wake up in a bed. Where am I?

'Who is Sebastian?', This is the one who killed Tracy. Where are my friends?

'My boyfriend'

'Who is probably dead!', he ends the statement for me.

'Ho-how do you know this?', I ask him. Keep calm Spencer.

'Learn to control your thoughts and I might stay away', he informs me and gets out of the room. He doesn't lock the door. I can't move. I am freezed.

...

'You know what I am capable to do if you ever try to exit this house, don't you?', he squeezes my arm and when he lets it down I have finger prints on it. It hurts.

'You can bite me, so why aren't you doing this?', I challenge him. I know he will do it someday so I prefer him to do it now.

'Don't believe so much in novels because I am not keeping you alive because I love you. This is the truth so get over it and don't make this dramatic expression because I have no feelings.', Oh My Gosh. Somebody help me.

'One more thing, there's nobody here to help you. It's just you and me in Blury.', he heads to his room and grabs a book from a shelf.

'I didn't know that creatures just like you, are reading books', I notice.

'We need to pretend that we are normal, that's why we are reading books', he answers.

'What do you want from me?'

'Absolutely nothing. What made you think that I want you for something?', Oh. 

'Then let me go'

'No!'

He is so strange! If he wanted to kill me he would have done it since the first minute he met me. I don't know what's going on and I really don't wanna learn. I just wanna get out of here and find my friends. I don't even know if they are alive.

'They are okay, out of this place. Rosallie has an injure on her right knee and she might never walk again and the other two are okay!', Rosallie. Oh my god. What happened?

'How she got the injure?', I think he got the hint.

'We only bite necks, not knees so calm down! She was hit by a car when she ran away from here'

'I'm hungry', I just say.

'I have nothing to give you', What I'm gonna do now?

'You know what I am so don't you tell that you expected me to have something for you yo eat!', I just had a hope.

'Of course you did'

'Whatever! What are you reading?', I point to the book he is holding.

'How to react like a human', he says like it's the most normal thing in this world.

It's not normal what I am livivng right now.

I don't even have a cell phone to call my mum.

'Can you please just stop having so comfusing thoughts because I wanna read? Just go inside and leave me alone!', he shouts and his eyes turns into a yellow-brown colour.

I am in the living room and I don't know what to do. I am afraid but there is not escape in here. I tried once to exit this house but I am 100% sure that he knew I was trying to leave but when I stepped on the road he stopped me. I don't even know how long he is in this age. I don't even know how old he pretends to be. I know nothing and that grows my fear a lot.

I notice some awards on his fireplace. In his previous life he might have been a champion or something like this. Next to the awards, on the wall specifically, there is a picture which captures Mark playing football. That's what he liked doing when he had a free time. Now, in his free time he likes killing and torturing people like a beast he is.

A noise from inside his room comes to my ears and brings me back to life. I am even afraid to have thoughts because all long time I had these thoughts he might have read them. I stay calm when he gets out of his room and lets me know that he never read any of my thoughts because he was so concetrated on his 'How to act like a human' book.

'Do I frighten you?', what a question, of course you do.

'Yes!', I answer him. I don't wanna look at him.

'If I told that I wouldn't hurt you, would you still be afraid of me?', why is he pushing this conversation any further?

'You're a vampire and you are thirtsty for human blood.', I whisper this time trying to show him how intimidated he makes me feel. However, he has no feeling so it doesn't matter whether I show him or not.

'Of course', he ironically says. 'I am leaving. If you need anything, don't call me!', he trolls me but there is a hint of truth in his tone. I only nod and stay where I am for the next ten minutes trying to proccess everything in my brain. 

I want my friends back.

I wanna go back.

Living in a house with a vampire is something I never expected it to happen. You know, he wants to kill you but he doesn't do it only to make you feel the fear. He doesn't sleep. He always has to do something just to keep himself busy. As far as I know, he visits family members from all over the world almost every day, and then he reads his books in order to learn how to act like a human.

Telling the truth, if he'd never showed up as a vampire, the fact that he is, would never have crossed my mind. The things are different now. Everything on him reminds me of a creature that is killing people to satisfy theirselves. The colour of his eyes, his pale and cold skin, his teeth, his high speed and the way he sometimes talking like he has came from a different age, comfirms that this creature has to be disspeared, or everyone in this world will be his and his friends and family's meal!

This, doesn't have to do with fear. I never had the life that I once imagined I would have when I reach 17. If he bites me, I will be exactly like him. If he doesn't do it, the other vampires will get aware of my existence and Mark has to protect me or kill me afterwards. Kill me, not to turn me into a vampire. I want this life to be normal, but from this day on, it won't be and I have to finish it.
