My Wolf Secret

Part 1

Part 1

(Maddie's POV)

After hearing the strange noise I had made my way to the bottom of the garden to see is I could find out where the noise was coming from only to come face to face with a wolf ratching in the bins and another one trying to jump out of the cellar but failing.

I am standing in the pitch black of night with only the the light from the moon helping me be able to see.

I'm looking at the wolf going through the bins for a couple of seconds when suddenly it stops what it is doing and stares right back at me.

"GET BACK INSIDE!!" I shout.

The wolf looks at me kind of startled and backs away a little, I start walking towards it ever so slowly, it keeps moving backwards and is soon right behind the opened door of the cellar.

It keeps on walking back till its right hind slips into the opening of the cellar giving it a fright and making it look behind its self then back to me growling.

The wolf staring at me and growling sets off a trigger inside of me and I can feel my eyes change from their usual chocolate brown colour to a golden yellow, I close my eyes for a second and take a few steady breaths then open them and stare at the wolf. It suddenly whimpers at the feeling of my intense gaze and stumbles backwards down into the cellar hitting the stone floor with a thud.

I quickly walk over to the opening of the cellar and look down inside and see a wolf backing away into a corner as I'm about to close the doors the wolf that fell with the thud tries to jump back out, with our a second thought I quickly take off my shoe and whack the wolf on the nose with it, the wolf falls back down inside yelping taking my shoe with it.

I grab the two doors and slam them shut sticking a pole through the handles making sure they won't get out again, standing back from the now hopefully secure doors I hear a howl.

Glancing up at the full moon just above me I shake my head sighing making my way back inside then eventually up to bed.

I snapped awake to find my alarm beeping loudly next to my ear, groaning I turned it off and got out of bed.

I had a quick shower, got dressed for school putting on my black school trousers and white blouse, dried my hair with the hair dryer putting it up in a pony tail and straightening my side fringe. Then applied a light bit of foundation and a bit of mascara. I grabbed my tie that was hanging over the seat at my desk putting it on as I jogged down the stairs.

I rounded the corner into the kitchen, glancing at the clock above the dining table I make my way to a closed door at the far end of the kitchen, open it and make my way down 5 concrete steps till I reach another door, quickly grabbing the keys from the shelf I unlock the door and slide it open to the right.

Walking inside the room switching on the light I see my mum and dad slowly waking up in the corner of the room.

"I think that chicken was off" my dad says as he stretches and stands up as my mum does the same.

"I can't believe you two breaking out and raiding the bins" I say slightly annoyed with them, did they want our secret to get out or something. My mum just looks down at the floor I notice what she is looking at... my shoe I hit her on the nose with last night all chewed up with plenty of holes in.

"Aww mum" I groaned picking it up with my thumb and fore finger while she just looked ashamed.

We were all back up from the cellar and in the kitchen, I was giving my parents a bit of a lecture.

"Your always saying that we have to stay hidden from humans and never give into our wolf self and the moment you get a chance your out the cellar and away" I say slightly exasperated.

"You don't understand how powerful the pull of the moon is" says my dad as he walks over to the cooker.

"I won't be a hypocrite who says stay hidden and then brakes out at the first whiff of food"

I hand my mum the chewed shoe as a put on my black cardigan, she opens the bin lid "Actually your dads not the only one been eating things he shouldn't is he" she says glancing up at me then back down to the bin where there was evidence of the packets from my late night snacking last night.

"Yes and you were still dressed when you came outside young lady" piped up my dad as he was frying some eggs.

"Yeah and didn't we agree in bed by 10:30 on school nights"

Glancing at both of them "I'm gonna miss the bus don't want to be late" I say grabbing my school bag and making a dash for the front door"

"Oh and don't go hitting me on the nose again" my mum shouts from behind me.

Looking down at the shoe rack all I can put on my feet is my wellies, why did my mum have to wreck my shoes grabbing my jacket I made my way out the door and away to school. Please don't let my day get any worse I thought to myself, it could only get better right?
