"I'm sorry Pangga, I still have six clients here," he said through the phone. I simply brush my wet hair with disbelief."But maybe before New Year's eve, I can come with you and Celine" he continued.
I sighed. "Wala naman akong magagawa." Narinig ko ang pagsinghap niya sa kabilang linya. Because that's the truth, kahit asawa niya ko wala kong magawa para mapa-uwi siya sa Pilipinas.
"Naiintidihan mo naman ako diba? I just need this to be done, and after that makakasama ko na uli kayo..." Hindi ko alam kung anong isasagot sa sinabi niya, gusto kong sabihin na iintayin ko pa rin siya pero walang nalabas sa bibig ko.
"Pangga?" I remained silent.
"I miss you." I smiled a bit, I'm about to respond but I got refused when someone just hugged me behind my back, my smile vanished.
"Hmm.. You smell so nice." he whispered to my right ear, agad kong tinakpan ang speaker ng phone ko.
"What are you doing?" ni hindi ko na marinig ang boses ko sa sobrang hina nito. He just shrugged and started tracing patterns on my stomach, Holy Mary. He's a teased!
"Are you still there?" napapitlag ako ng marinig ang boses na iyon, sa kabilang linya. I can't utter a word, because this man behind my back is now kissing my neck. This is wrong, but it feels so good. I can't stop him. I just can't.
"Y-yes love," How I wish na sana hindi magbago ang boses ko. "I m-miss you too." I mean it. I know deep in myself that I miss him, but here I am trying not to give in with these kisses.
"Are you okay?" I don't know why the hell I am sweating where in fact this room is fully air conditioned. "Ofcourse.. S-sige na I need to fetch Celine to school pa." I tried hard not to stutter again. He bid his goodbye and ended the call.
"Nice excuse Mandy." he exclaimed after leaving his hands on my waist. I sitted on the couch, next to him. Malalalim ang paghinga ko.
"What do you want? Tanungin niya 'ko ng kung ano-ano?"
He just handed me a glass of wine, he drink his and diverted his eyes on me. "Yes," he answered. "I want him to ask you much questions, I want him to ask you the reason why you're stuttering.. And I want you to tell him that, that was because of me."
"You are insane."
We became silent for a few minutes... not until he placed my head on his shoulders and say this words..
"I maybe an insane, pero ako yung nandito Mandy.." he look at me with those brooding eyes and believe me, this time.. I want to do him a favor on dumping my husband and just stay with this familiar kind of love.
