Nisha was stirred awake the next morning by a wet feeling on her bottom half. Last night had been long and tiresome. Poor, Rohan had been up all night with bouts of diarrhea and vomiting. He had soiled two pairs of pants and a shirt by the end of it all. She was finally able to put him to sleep around 5 am since he had nothing left in him. Thankfully he didn't have much of a fever or other flu symptoms, and she had planned to call his family doctor first thing in the morning to get him checked out.
Nish finally opened her eyes and looked, trying to figure out where the warm sensation came from. She was shocked to find a large yellow stain on the bed. Upon further inspection, she realized the yellow stain had come from Rohan. Her husband had peed the bed. She was distraught now. Last night when he peed himself, she thought it was an isolated, but this made her worry. What if he had prostrate cancer or some sort of tumor.
She sighed and ran her hands through her sleeping husbands hair. The poor baby looked absolutely exhausted he had bags under his eyes his mouth was slightly ajar with drool coming out of it. He seemed so innocent and worry-free. She hoped he would be okay. She grabbed her phone and made a quick call to his family doctor whom she had met at their wedding. Apparently he had been Rohans doctor since he was a baby.
"Hello, Dr.Khan, how are you? I hope I didn't wake you," she said, noting the clock. It was only 7 am. "No, no it's fine, How are you Nisha, are you ill" he questioned? "I'm alright; I was actually calling you about Rohan, I'm really worried about him, he's been vomiting and has had diarrhea all night. And this morning I woke up to find that he wet the bed" she replied a bit too quickly. "Calm down beta; he will be fine. He has some medicine in the cabinet. I will text you the names and dosages. Just feed those to him after breakfast, and she should be fine in two to three days," the doctor replied nonchalantly. "What do you mean this has happened to him before," she asked, looking down at the sleeping man. "Yes it has, the stubborn boy never follows a proper schedule or takes his medicine and that aggravates his illness," the doctor answered.
Illness, she thought. Her mind raced with worry, what could it be god forbid it was something deadly. "I'm really worried sir, can you please stop by the house before heading to your clinic today. I would appreciate it," she begs hopelessly. "Alright for you beta, but that husband of yours never listens to my instructions. That boy is the most stubborn patient I have ever had," the doctor explains hanging up. Nisha sighs a bit annoyed that the doctor was taking her husband's illness so lightly. She had been up with him all night and knew the amount of pain and discomfort he had been in and for the doctor to ignore it all frustrated her.
After changing her clothes and brushing her teeth quickly, Nisha went to wake up the poor husband. She knew he would be embarrassed and worried when he found out about his, so she had to break it to him gently. "Rohan, honey, its morning you have to get up," she whispers softly. He stirs a bit, moving closer to her voice. "I know your tired baby, you only have to wake up for a little bit then you can sleep as long as you want," she said, trying to coerce him awake. Rohan slowly rubbed his eyes open, looking up to his beautiful wife. She smiled down at him, helping him sit up on the bed. He felt weak partly from last night but also because for the first time in his life, he felt he could be vulnerable, so he let himself relax. That is until he felt the dampness in his nether regions, realizing what he had done Rohan sobbed disgusted at himself.
He was such a disgusting fool. He hated himself his weak body, and his inability to control the most basic human reactions. Why in the world would someone as beautiful, intelligent, and kind as Nisha want to be with him? Rohan felt her wrap her arms around him, trying to console him. He sobbed harder as guilt seeped into his chest.
He had ruined this poor girls life. He should have told her about all this before they married, but he didn't because he was selfish. When he first met her, he had fallen in love automatically. Her kind spirit and generous nature had sealed the deal. His whole life he had been alone and had accepted it. He had alienated himself away from the world he didn't get close to anyone, he didn't allow himself to make friends, and he barely spoke to any family. His only close relative was his father, and they only talked about business. From a very young age Rohan had given up the idea of ever finding love. He never allowed a woman to get near him because of his disgusting illness; he knew no woman could accept a man like him. But when he met her, he could not deny himself any longer; he agreed to marry her without telling her the whole truth. He had scammed her and regretted it immediately.
