hai everyone! hoshi here! and i'm finally back with a new book, it's been a while since i've written anything in general but it feels nice to finally get into writing again.

anyways enough about me, here are a few things you have to know before continue on reading:

+ this book is based on one of my favorite animes, tokyo ghoul.

+ there will be some mature/explicit content, such as death(s), gore, etc. i will be putting small warnings at the beginning of the chapters & paragraph so yeah! keep an eye out!

"saiko, you're closing up tonight." caleb shouts tossing the keys at me, luckily, i caught them just before they hit the ground, "why can't you?" i ask looking at him, "i have to meet up with melanie tonight, we have a date." he clicks his tongue, i rolled my eyes, "well you should've told me earlier, i have to study for my exa-" "bye, thank you, love you." he shouts before shutting the shops door, i sighed, 'how rude.'

i had finished wiping down the tables and counter when i notice a figure standing outside the store, i opened the door, "i'm so sorry, i'm just closing up, you can come back tomorrow morning-"

"i'm not here for your shitty ass human food." "human food?" i gulp quietly, the hooded figure lifted it's head up and looked at me, what caught my attention was it's red glowing eyes, face hidden behind the mask. 'no way, it's a ghoul! oh god, oh god, oh god.'

i stood still, i couldn't show it that i was afraid, i looked at it in it's red eyes, "please leave, i don't have time for this." i say quietly, i could tell they were confused from my response, "you should leave, i won't even bother calling the ccg, just leave."

the figure stood still before bolting away, i sighed in relief, 'holy shit. i can't believe that just happened.'

i hurriedly called my best friend to come and pick me up.

"wait, are you sure it was a ghoul?" she asks, i nodded, "yes i'm sure! i've never seen one in person until today!" i say, "i-i can't believe it didn't attack me or anything, i lowkey thought i was going to die." i sigh, "you should start carrying those stun gun things that the ccg has for ghouls." i shook my head, "i'd doubt i would run into another ghoul again." cara shrugs, "who knows, they did say more sightings of ghouls were popping out around here."

i sat back, "i mean if it's my time to go, it's my time to go." cara smacks my hand, "don't say that!"

the next morning, i had told caleb what had happen and he promised me he would never leave me alone while closing time, which is a complete lie, but whatever, go crazy i guess.

i walked over to the door and flipped the sign from closed to open, i smiled to myself, today is going to be a great day, i can feel it. "saiko, i need help, i dropped the soap and it's everywhere, help me please." caleb says snapping me out of my thoughts, i sighed, damn you caleb, you stupid son of a bitch.

i washed my hands after helping caleb clean up the holy amount of lavender dish soap, "well thanks caleb, now i'll smell like lavender." i sigh, the mini bell on the door had rung, signaling someone was here. i quickly dried off my hands and walked to the the counter, "hi, good morning, how are you?" i ask the girl who was glancing up at the menu sign, she looked at me.

"oh hi, um, i've never actually been here so what do you recommend i get?" she asks me, i shrug, "depends on what you want, if you want a sandwhich, i love the all cheese and ham with bacon, the best soup is definetly cheese and broccoli with extra cheese on top and for the pasteries i like-"

"something with cheese, right?" she laughs, i playfully frowned, "unfortunately, besides cream cheese no pasteries here have cheese." i dramatically sigh, "man i'm a whore for cheese." once i had said that, i smacked my hand over my mouth, "i'm so sorry for swearing, oh god!" i apologize, it was a rule to never use any foul language around customers.

instead of taking it offensive, the girl snorts and tilts her head back, letting out of a laugh, "holy shit, you are hilarious." she says while wiping tears from her eyes, i nervously smile, "thank god my embarassment is someone else's amusement." i deadpan, she laughs again.

"you're one funny girl, i'll just get whatever you decide." she says, i nodded, "okay, that'll be six fifty," i say, she hands me a ten dollar bill and i gave her, the correct change. "i'll bring it out to you." i say before walking back in the kitchen, caleb was already making the order, "she's cute, huh?" he says as i walked through, i nodded, "yeah, she's cute." agreeing, i take the food to her, in which she was sitting in a booth scrolling through her phone, "here you go." i say placing her food in front of her.

before i had a chance to walk away, she spoke, "i have a question." i looked at her, "yeah? what is it?" "how do you pronounce your name?" she asks looking at my name tag, "oh it's saiko-like psycho! like a deranged person." i laugh quietly, "ah okay..nice name." i smile at her, "thank you, how about you? what's your name?" i ask her, "my name's billie, billie eilish." she reaches out for a handshake, i gladly took it.

"you're new here, right?" i ask, she nods, "yeah, how'd ya know-wait, lemme guess, it's the accent right?" she asks, i nodded, "bingo." "damn" she snapping her fingers. i smiled at her, "well i'll leave ya to it." i say before walking back to the kitchen.

"i liked the food very much, thank you." billie says handing me her plate, i grabbed it, "no thank you for stopping in, have a nice day." before she had left, she also handed me a small little note, "you should call me sometime."  she says before walking out, i felt my face get hot. "o-oh, okay."

once she was out of my line of sight, i ran to caleb, "caleb, guess what?" he looks at me, "what's up?" i held the note that read:

xxx-xxx-xxxx

"aw, gay love, how cute~" caleb says holding his chest in awe, i rolled my eyes, "whatever, i'll text her after work."

"you better, gshe's cute."
