laughing to myself, i slip out the front door and close it softly behind me as i hear the lock click and i fall into the step below me. i let my eyes wander over to the setting sun in the distance, the hills rippling along the horizon. if i squint hard enough, i can just make out the sea.

"hey lu" i hear a familiar voice say ever so slightly breathlessly, and i giggle at the brunette boy.

"hi blake"

he holds out his hand towards me and i grasp onto it, being pulled up to walk alongside next to him. i don't even bother asking where we're going as i know i won't get an answer from him purely because he just loved surprises.

almost as much as he loved taking spontaneous pictures of me and flooding his instagram stories with them.

his thumb rubs along the side of my hand absentmindedly as he hums a small tune, swinging our interlaced hands in between us. i don't have any idea where he could be taking me but i know that i don't care regardless, because i'm with him and that's all that matters.

after a few minutes, we begin to walk up hill and i can't resist asking "what are we doing blake?"

"just be patient lu" he murmurs, grinning at me as i roll my eyes at him. he knows i can't be patient to save my life, and uses it against me constantly; especially in situations like these.

"this is totally spontaneous isn't it?" i say, as we reach the top of the hill and my eyes focus into the blurry lights of the buildings down below and the sea more clearly in the distance now. the faint tweet of a few birds can be heard but apart from that, it's silent up here and i love it.

"just wait a few minutes pretty girl"

i wait a few minutes, laying my head on blakes chest in the process as we collapse onto the grass below us, and i sigh. he makes me feel safe.

before i know it, a blanket of stars engulfs the sky, littering the black mass with twinkling gems that blink down at us below. its beautiful and it's one of my favourite things in the whole entire world. everything to do with space fascinates me and i know that blake knows this.

"did you bring me here just for this?" i murmur, and i feel him nod his head.

"i know how much you love looking at the stars so i thought i'd see what all the fuss was about" he replies, and i giggle at him.

"and i wanted to see your face light up as well" he mutters, and i'm not sure if i was meant to hear him but i smile anyway.

"well, are you impressed?"

"with you around, i'm always impressed lu"

blushing, i turn my head towards the brunette, seeing him grinning at me slyly and i poke his nose playfully. crossing his eyes to follow my finger, i watch as he quickly leans forward and captures my lips in his.

i run my fingers through his hair as we kiss, pulling him closer to me. i cant help myself as i giggle into his mouth and he begins to chuckle as well as he pulls away.

"what's funny baby?"

"nothing, nothing. you just make me happy"

"i'm glad cause you make me happy too"
