(Lave POV)
I licked the last of the blood off my fingers feeling very refreshed. I have so much energy! I thought in a slight haze. Truly after denying yourself your favorite food for an extended period of time it becomes even more delectable.
Standing up I stretched out my sore muscles. Three days of sleep is not good for the body. Walking to the door I saw my items piled up against the wall. Ah, Lai left my things. He's such a sweet heart. I cooed while chuckling. And I was looking forward to searching for them. Too bad.
Inserting my fingernail into the lock I picked the door. A satisfying click resounded through the halls. Counting to make sure all my things are actually here and not hiding else where I placed them back into their proper place. I left my cell and headed for the door at the end of the hall that Lai used. Thankfully I was placed very close to the door.
The room beyond was deserted. Cards and drinks sat on the table abandoned. "Tsk, he must have ordered them to leave." I mumbled out in irritation. Must I wonder around until I find someone? I walked through the deserted corridors, light only by torchlight, trying to find anyone I can interrogate. However all I found was a maze of empty rock walls. The longer I walked the more annoyed I became.
"How big is this place!" I shouted while glaring at the endless maze. No I will not admit defeat it is just a building. I will tear it down if I have to. A sinister smile floated to my face as I thought of tearing holes through this Goddess forsaken building.
Light reflected from one of the shadowy corner in the room. I squinted just barely making out the outline of a ladder. Following it up my gaze landed on a conspicuous trap door. I am speechless. Just when did that appear?
The trap door opened to a very spacious and clean white marble storeroom. Is it a hidden dungeon maze? Honestly it doesn't seem very smart to have the exit to a dungeon leading to a storeroom. I mean there are so many things you could use as a weapon in here. What if someone escaped from their cell and managed to make it here.Truly an oversight on the Church's part.
Spitting out a sigh I began walking down the hall I am hoping leads outside. Honestly I am not very good with Human architecture. My feet slid across the marble leaving small blood stains in my wake. Not long after I spotted what appeared to be a maid. She froze in terror as her eyes landed on me.
"Oh my, I've spotted a weak sister!" I cheered. Finally someone I can get some information from. I grabbed her arm before she managed to gather the courage to run. "Why hello there. I was wondering if you would answer some of my questions." I flashed a toothy smile.
She didn't respond but she didn't yank away either. "So ~ lets start with something easy. Where am I?" She is trembling badly but still answering my questions as clearly as possible. She truly is easy prey for information. You would think that the Church would be more carful.
"Ch-Church headquarters." She stuttered with teary eyes. "About an hour f-from Kreen."
"Good. Now what can you tell me about the Church's war on Demons?" Kreen if I remember correctly is two days away from Vasa. Sigh, two days from the sea. She gulped trying to figure out the best thing to say. "Take your time. However remember that one lie is equal to one injury, and it would be regrettable to get you cloths all dirty."
"T-The Demons are trying to k-kill us so we have s-somoned a H-Hero to save us." She rushed out while taking worried glances at my daggers. "H-Hero Kim will d-defeat the Demons and s-save us all." Taking a deep breath she straitened her back and looked me in the eye. "N-No matter what you do Demon Spy your kind will be the ones to die in the end."
"Wow, and how did you summon this Hero?" Maybe I can get back this way. It would certainly make my life easier. Plus whoever this Hero is sounds troublesome.
Slight panic filled her eyes. "I d-don't know. It is a well kept s-secreat of the Priests." I held her eyes making her shiver uncontrollable. "Please! You have to believe me! I know nothing of how the Hero was summoned!" Her pleading is irritating especially after she just declared my death.
"And why should I believe you?" Lets play with her a little. I slipped my dagger out and held it gently against her cheek.
"P-Please Demon Spy I a-am just a h-humble Maid. I-I know nothing of i-importance. S-Spear me." Her trembling grew to the point it was as if she was vibrating, and large tears streamed from her eyes. She would have fell to the ground if I had not been holding her up.
Placing the dagger against my lips as if thinking I turned my eyes to the ceiling. "Well I guess I could spear you if you show me the way to where they summoned the Hero."
"Y-yes! Right away." She pulled away slowly trying to see how I would react. I held my grip on the Maid's arm as we traveled through an untold number of hallways. "H-Here is the room." She pushed the door open and showed me in.
White. I grimaced. Really everything in this Church is white and gold. However this room was only white. White marble covered the ceilings, the walls, and even the floor. I walked further into the disorienting room dragging the Maid with me. She is my ticket out of this stupid place.
With a sigh I pulled a vile of green powder from one of my pouches. Really I'm not the most magically sensitive person out there. Thankfully this solves that problem for me. Pulling the cork off with my teeth I sprinkled it into the air. The powder turned into leaves and flowers of varies sizes and colors. The Maid gasped beside me.
I had a Sprite friend of mine make this to help find hidden traps and magical devices. The flowers and leaves drifted through the room landing on the ground randomly. Once the last leaf landed in place I examined the complex magic circle. The language was one I didn't know and the circle far to complex for me to ever understand. I'm a warrior not a magian. I guess I'll just have to capture one of these Priests then. They seem to know how this thing works.
"Hey, take me to the head Priest around here." I demanded. If I have to capture someone then might as well go for the boss. The Maid looked confused and then panicked.
"T-That would be impossible. The P-Priests are in Vasa right now. They won't be back for a-another two days." The Maid shook her head violently to infancies just how 'impossible' it is.
"Tsk, then show me the exit. I want to leave this place as soon as possible. Its so boring here."
